And back to Realistic Minecraft we go! I know literally everyone was begging for the Wither, and he’s almost done so don’t worry, I think you guys are gonna like him. Until then here’s the infamous insomnia imp, the Phantom!

The Phantom was tricky, like most of these designs, because it’s so open to interpretation with Minecraft’s style. I looked around for what other people had done, saw stuff ranging from dragons to winged zombies, which I thought were cool but they didn’t really stick with me. Then, later that night I saw a moth on my bedroom window, and it sparked instantly. The Phantom is a large species of moth native to the Overworld, however instead of being attracted to large sources of light like other moths it’s attracted to the hormones released by humans who haven’t slept for long periods of time. It will unfurl it’s wings, which had hid it from predators in the night sky, and descend upon prey, clawing at them with its long bony fingers or spearing them with its antenna. It’s wings also have stuck-open eye patterns on them, representing how the players haven’t rested there eyes and gone to sleep for at least three days.
