My Tumblr: [link]I am bringing this to #Ai-Kon 2011. I drew it for because she had said something about not being able to find any Turkey stuff at cons.
I hope you like it Grim! I will have it ready for you at my table. I hope you don't mind if I sell stickers and stuff of him.
This is Turkey, from Hetalia.

Oh no not at all! I hoped you would sell stuff with him on it. Though when I saw this I thought "Fezz's are cool" LMAO!! Such a shame that wasn't written on there somewhere! Hahaha!
I change so much over the year you'll never recognize me in a week! Haha! I still need to hang out with you a bit before I go TAT
Thank you so much for all of these! You gave me so much! (I think one of them was a trade? I hope you liked what you got! Though I'm not sure what you got LOL)

I think I wanna draw him some more so maybe I will do a pic of him with the 11th doctor with fezzes on. I dunno... we'll see.
I love what I got! Yeah one was a trade and the others were made for you specifically. I just printed more because I was curious if people would like it or not. Turns out they did, better then America and Canada. Some one even commissioned me to draw Denmark, and now I wanna draw him more. He's pretty cool.

YES PLEASE! Matt Smith's almost lack of eyebrows and a Fezz on top.
Fezz's are cool LMAO. I would LOVE to see that!!
Haha! Because Turkey is a rare find! LMAO draw more of the fandoms I'm into and you're likely to sell something haha. I'm into such rare things. Our table is the Final Fantasy table. I swear. LMAO I must have drawn at least 20 chibis from that fandom by now. Dew does such an awesome job with colors so if she requests anything I get right on that.
We actually have Generals from SailorMoon (Queen Beryl's henchmen) but she ran out of skin color. XD I was looking forwards to seeing those but ah well. LOL No biggie. I'll get to see her awesome coloring job later.
Awesome!! I'm so happy to hear this Mausuz!! Usually the people with the rare artwork will sell the rare art! That's why I had Tiger & Bunny on my table. LOL

LOL! Well I might not draw it for another week. But it's on the list of stuffs to do for sure.
Ooo the generals might have sold some. That would have been cool to see.
I don't know if I would call my artwork rare or anything. I think it's either that I like things others don't really, or I like the same things lots of people like but they aren't the kind of people to go to a con and buy stuff, or I like the same stuff as everyone but in such a different way that they still won't get my stuff. I dunno. >_< Still I think I will get to the point I break even at a con, and I will get to the point I sell out completely. It's just gonna be a long ass climb to get there.

LOL Yes they would have but maybe we'll sell them next time
or if we ever do that trip to see my buddies in Virginia.
I hear they make good sales down there.
Oh but it IS rare! I enjoy your Dr Who fanart VERY much.
It's so nostalgic!! I would love to visit you for some Dr Who watching!
Oh that would just be my week! I'd bring Xeph too! LMAO
I kind of want to have him cosplay as one of the Doctors... or maybe Jack.

I have gone to the States for cons. They do sell better down there. I don't know why. Drives me nuts. Why should it be so hard to break even at Ai-kon when my stuff is getting more interest online? All I wanted this year was to break even. I just needed another $50 or there abouts and I would have broken fully even. Damnit.
Ah well. Next year.
You are welcome over any time. You have my cell number right? Just call or text first so I can give you directions. A number 11 gets you to with in a block from my place. ^_^

LOL same here. It was depressing. I sold no prints. None. I sold maybe a few magnets and few buttons and stickers but that's it. Stupid little things. TAT I'm not gonna bother with prints anymore. Since I worked hard on things I thought WOULD sell and only made two copies of the things that DID sell. XD I was the only table that had Tiger & Bunny stuff. Shame. I think if I made enough to break even I'd be dancing but I made $26. Yup. $26 bucks. *sigh* It's not even really worth it. I gave that money to Dew for my half of the table.
Gonna save up for a US convention. I've spent far too much on making prints and crap. Sold nothing so really if I go down to the states I'll be able to sell it. LOL wishfull thinking I guess.
Whoa! The Number 11?? So frequent! You'll have to let me know where I need to stop! XD

I didn't sell many prints and none of my 11x17s sold, though since lost of other people sell prints and stuff maybe it's a matter of my display, and that I am just not as personable as I would like to be.
I think I am getting better though. Slowly. Just gotta keep working at it. $26 is better then nothing though. Maybe you and I have a similar problem. Cuz your art is amazing. So it's probably just that we don't sell our art well, like we're not the best salesmen... er women... ah what ever you get it.

Bah I think you're great. Your personal skills are awesome.
People just didn't go around buying a lot this year. I think we have more
luck down south then we do in our own city. I sold no prints. Some magnets sold
but not a lot of the Tiger & Bunny stuff (though really that was the only thing that sold)
I find it rather depressing but I won't let it get to me!
Yus! I know I'm not. I kinda freak people out. LMAO "HEY THERE!" I was in a really good
mood the entire weekend. It was my birthday weekend, right? So I was determined to be
real happy that a convention had to be around my birthday. Not a lot of people get that!!
Awww >3< I'm happy you think my artwork is awesome. I'm thinking about going to an American convention. Though I don't have a lot of money (and I won't). So I'm really thinking about it LOL. Would I make more then I do here and will it cover the cost of everything in order to get there? The hunt is on!

I don't think my personal skills are all that awesome, at least not compared to many of the people I know. Phynix is an out right social butterfly. I just can't be that. But maybe one day, as I loose my fear of people not liking me and belittling me.
Yeah selling your art is easier in the states. I don't know why it should be, but even now with their economy in the dumps it's easier then it is here. Maybe it would be easier in Toronto too. Maybe it's just a Winnipeg thing.
Maybe Tiger and Bunny didn't sell because it's not as well known so there are fewer people out there likely to buy it, regardless of the skill that went into it.
Still I think my ultimate goal is to sell more of my original stuff then fan art.
I was in a good mood the entire weekend too. I think that really helped me, and I think I am going to wear more feminine and popular-ish cosplays that I like. That brought people to the table too (kind of a show'em if you got'em thing... and I don't like the idea of using my body to sell my art, but if people will come to the table because of it then... I dunno I guess it's almost worth it so long as the buy stuff, but I wouldn't want to wear something that showed too much, just something that played up my good features, if any I have).
I do think your artwork is awesome. OOO hey! I heard about this [link] and thought of you. You should try and submit something. I think you have what it takes.
I don't know if Phy ever made enough to cover the whole cost of going to the conventions in the states that we have been to, at least I am sure she didn't for the last one because we stayed a whole two weeks just to hang out with our friend and see the city, that and it was a four day con, which they are doing again. Ugh 4 days? WHY! I mean yeah, more time to sell art, woot, but I am soooo very damned exhausted after a 4 day american con. Just one day at an american con is more tiring then any con here. Oh man. So many people, and I am empathic, so if it were a short rock concert yeah I'd be totally energized, but four days around thousands of people all in varying moods is so very draining. It's hard to keep up the appearance of being in a good mood on day four, even if I am in a very very good mood, because I am just wiped.

Yes! Really I feel like it's something you've just got to try.
What I'd do is either eat a lot of sugar or go without sleep.
Naturally I'm a calm person (I think you got that) but when I'm in a good mood
I'll wave at anyone.
It probably is but it's hard to get a table in Toronto. It's incredibly easy
to get a table in Florida. I'd love to sell artwork there again. LMAO I made $180
who WOULDN'T want that kinda cash? Haha and back then I didn't sell buttons, magnets or stickers.
And Dew wasn't my awesome colorist. She's damned good at traditional coloring. She made my chibis look freaking awesome.
As for the Tiger and Bunny... well it was reasonably popular. I got a crapload of pictures taken of me that entire weekend. (I was Tiger the whole weekend, I think you knew that XD)
That's pretty much all we sold was the T&B stuff. Even though we made all of the Sailor Scouts, Kuroshitsuji stuff, Dante, Final Fantasy Dissidia stuff, and One Piece stuff. I printed two copies of really small Tiger and Bunny prints on photo paper (I had limited quantity at home) so I guess in a way we sold prints LOL. Just not the ones I worked on for the convention. The Tiger and Bunny ones were just for fun really. I didn't think they would be popular so I worked harder on the Kuroshitsuji stuff that didn't sell at all.
Oh god! Then you definitely need to visit the states. I'm thinking about going to a convention in Virginia Beach next year. It's in November and art tables start selling in June. They encourage you to sell your original artwork over fan art and it's actually a requirement that you have at least 20% fan art and the rest is all original characters. (I draw better when it comes to original characters anyway). The convention is called NekoCon. It's something I'm thinking about going to but I dunno. It depends on how deep the wallet goes.
LOL well I think that's what got people to our table too. My Tiger cosplay. Though for the next few conventions I go to I want to cosplay as something good and perhaps lose some weight in the process. There are some cosplays that have bare arms and I'm a little self conscious about those.
Aww well I'll try. Not sure I do but I don't have anything done yet. I'll try for ten pages of something and see if they like it. Though I'm not a very good story teller. This looks like an awesome opportunity. Thank you very much for the link!
Oh man! 4 days?! I've never been to a convention that lasted 4 days. Most conventions I've been to in the US were only 3. Sakura Con was only 3, Metrocon was only 3 and OMG!Con was only 3... what is up with 4? That's nuts! They're trying to kill us. Ninjas of the Anime community... making conventions last that long... so many smelly people. Good gawd.

Oh I'd LOVE to make that much selling my art. I mean I'd LOVE to make more but I just broke $100 this time so I don't wanna set my sights TOO high and then feel down if I don't reach it. So set my sights some where just above where I think I can reach, then when I reach that set my sights higher again.
When I am in a good mood and less inhibited I will smile and chat and wave and even hug any one, but I have loose my inhibitions or no matter what my mood I hit a wall and then I got nothing more and, at least on my side of things, things seem uncomfortable and I spend the rest of the time wracking my brain for a way to fix it for fear of loosing the people I am talking to. *facepalm*
Isn't that how it always is though? The stuff you think will sell and bring lots of and work really hard on to make sure it's worth it to you to sell it doesn't freaking go but the stuff you just threw in because you wanted to see how it goes or just because you wanted extra stuff goes better then the rest. >_< I don't get it at all.
Oh I would love to go to that con. I have a surplus of fan art right now though because it's more popular then my original stuff, and though my goal is not popularity (it's just to make something from my art) if popularity helps that then I guess what ever works. Ugh though I am having a hard time. Drawing lots of batman arts, cuz C4 is coming up and I want to have non-anime stuff, but if I am gonna draw comic book fan art it's gonna be batman. I love Marvel, but batman characters are just so fun to draw. But if I am not doing fan art then it's the odd sketch for this card deck story idea I have, or my angel idea, or (and right now I am on a big kick of this) pics of the characters of a game Phynix and I are playing. But that game is furry and I know that stuff only goes off so well with most people. I'm not big into the furry scene and don't have a fursona or what ever. I just love this game and the characters we have in it so I draw them, LOTS.
Yeah I wanna loose some weight. Lots of the people I know weigh a lot more then me though so when I say that I get this whole "oh but you're skinny, you have no reason to complain." But I am tired of my muffin top and the fact that my butt hangs over the edge of the toilet seat. >_< TMI I know, but it bugs the fuck outta me so I should try to fix it. Just so far 30 minutes of DDR every day hasn't changed anything, though I guess I can't expect to see results fast, and I gotta keep consistent if I expect to see any results at all. Yeah I don't much like baring my arms. I mean I will do it if it is too hot for sleeves, but I always feel uncomfortable with it, so I usually have a button up shirt over top of my tank top and I roll up the sleeves to my elbow only.
I thought of you the second I saw it. You know some time if the both of us can get our acts together properly with comics you and I should work on something. I mean I am sure there is stuff drawing wise and story wise that you are better at then me, and you probably have a gap here and there that I can fill in too. Though I dunno how we'd work as a team, you can never know that until you try, right.
Yeah 4 days is hard. But cons in Pittsburgh seem to love it. I dunno why. It's so freaking exhausting, like the day after I slept the whole damn 24 hours, and the day after that I ate maybe 5 full meals. Oh man 4 days really, really drained me. It's full days too. Like 8am to midnight. Ugh. Holy crap where do they get the energy? LOL smelly people, yeah, but by the middle of day 3, with it being full days, you are too tired to be able to smell anything, or I was, and on day 4 good luck with any of your senses at all. Hell I just can't do it. Gotta spend the whole day before just eating, and then each morning make sure I have a stock of caffeine that would kill me with heart burn under normal circumstance.
Oh man it's hard, but still a whole lot of fun.
