Description This is a result of trying out some new Poser Pro 20112 features. Not the greatest, oh well. I used subsurface scattering on her skin. Used a light emitting sky sphere, and a single light.

Used IDL too since the light emitting only works if you use IDL. I made the sky sphere invisible to the camera, and rendered over black. Then I added another background in photoshop. Did some post work in there too.

She had some clothes on but I took them off because I was getting sss artifacts on her skin. Anyone know how to get rid of the artifacts and still use IDL, please let me know!

Here's the second try (still no clothes, but looks better)

Very nicely done!
For now I gave up on SSS I think I get better results with the workflow I used in PP2010 but that is my humble opinion.
With this SSS Poser Pictures start to look like DS pictures lol

Thanks Petra. I might post another one, I found a better shader on an RDNA thread. I will try to not make it look like a DS render.

lol,I did not say it in a negative way hon,it just seems that all pictures / Images posted now with SSS look very much DS like.ooops
Mind you,I wish I knew how to use it propperly,I read BB's thread reg.SSS but do not understand a word.
I followed his screenshot and did all the nodes that he had but it did not look like his renders.

I think it depends on the lighting too. Someone said to use a single light source. I did that, but it looked too harsh, so I added the light emitting sky sphere + IDL and that helped a lot. Worked great for nudes anyway.

Ok,now you need to send me a note with instructions please cos I have no clue AT ALL.
I would not know how to use SSS right, do I use the pre done one in the Wacos or do I make new nodes and choose the scatter with a skin tone like Skin 1....
HELP me!

I used the setup from here [link] for the second test render. I think I just used the SSS Wacro for this one, maybe with some tweaking. You have to set up the materials for each material zone, so it gets a bit tedious. You can use cut and paste for a lot of it though.
I used RDNA's daylight studio, just one light and their sky dome too. Make the sky dome ambient, like about 1.2, and hook the Ambient Color to the Image Map for the sky. And make sure it says Light Emitter in the Properties tab for the sky dome (should be that way by default).
Use some good render settings and check subsurface scattering, raytracing and indirect light.

OH I am such a nube in the material room.
You are quite at home in their cos you make those fab.materials.

I will look for the daylight studio.

Well, you don't have to use daylight studio. Just saying that's what I used.

But now I bought it lol.
Thank you soooo much for your help.
Have bookmarked the RDNA thread and see if I can make sense of it in my silly old head.
I always get scared in the material room lol

Good luck Petra. If you use Daylight Studio, scale the sphere up about 500%. I found out (in one of those RDNA threads) that making the sphere huge minimizes the artifacts I was getting when I put clothes on her.
