Very nice work! I've explored a similar theme in one of my own pieces, but I like your creature design better than my own!

This is a really great piece-the textures, colours, everything.
And the message it gives off is really amazing, too...who IS the mutant?

I just saw this in in imagine FX! The funny thing is I found your portfolio and linked here from your post on Indiegamer.com. The world is a small place. Or maybe the corner of the internet I live in I'm bound to run into the same artists over and over.

very very true the digital art world is pretty small from what I'm finding out too. So you saw my work in FX that's awesome you should pick up the Nov issue as well I have a larger feature on the DVD it was a pleasure and honor to have my work requested by the FX staff It make you know you on the right path lol. just a long one

Wow, very cool that they asked you to do a feature on the DVD. I just became a regular subscriber to the mag. Its funny when you realize you would much rather just be looking at the concept art of a game or movie than actually playing or watching it. Paintings always leave just enough open for you to start telling your own story. makes them more interesting. Hope you don't mind me asking, but are you working on any new projects game or movie wise? I just decided to open my self up to trying to get jobs. its a rough world out there and you seem to be a step ahead of me. If you have any words of wisdom please send them my way.
very nice to meet you!

Currently Im working on a i phone game called mooga and building up my portfolio also they didn't ask me to do a feature they just had a second interview with me sorry about the confusion. and from a professional standpoint as I'm just starting to step out there myself so there is a lot of trial and error involved I can give you this advice. Exposure,Networking,Education and Practice. You have a strong portfolio for sci fi and fantasy but don't just limit yourself to that market as an illustrator you have to have a great deal of variation or several different portfolios to keep a float. There is a lot of work out there you just have to constantly be looking for it. Get out locally and get involved with the art scene in your area this is a good way to network with in the art community as there is a lot of work that's word of mouth. if you can focus your education on the arts if this is what you want to do although your portfolio dose the talking it never hurts to have the credentials to back it up. Finally practice practice practice! Oh and a good resource for looking for work I would recommend you pick up a copy of artist and graphic designer's market 2010 a great resource to start getting work.I hope this helps you out.
Good luck to you I hope you find a rich and rewarding career

Both are mutants, which-to me- is another saying for neither of them are mutants. They are the same.

Very intriguing concept. Who's the mutant indeed. I could give a whole treaty on the subject but I'm gonna settle for the more diplomatic opinion that they are both mutants

Well... what is a mutant really? The way I see it every child is a mutation of his/her parents, a thick soup of genes and inheretence that is both a combination of something old and something completely new and unique. Just as every other mutant creature out there in humanity's imagination. From a little more biological viewpoint the the creature and the child are just two equal mutants on either side of that glass looking at each other and pondering the other's monstrosity.

Very nice. I knew that when I first looked at it, there was an aquarium influence on it.
Who's the mutant? Most people assume it's the green dude. But others (like me) would assume it's an alien observing a 'little girl,' who may or may not be something else entirely. These sort of things just get me thinking sometimes. ^^"
