Description
So here it is, @ better resolution than the youtube oneI had the idea of a remake of Dune for a loOoong time, more in the moebius way wich fits more to the Dune universe in my opinion. (The Lynch version is still full of great ideas and memorable moments)
And yes i could have used more work on breathing, animation and all, sorry about that.. it would be too much time consuming to raise the level @ this stage..
But it gave me the envy to start another animation, so stay tuned, more should come soon

I like the how you integrated Toto's 1984 Dune theme into the animation. Blending old and new is not all bad if its done where one complements the other.

As a die hard Dune Reader and fan, that was pretty amazing. I would have imagined Princess Irulan pretty close to your depiction

Whoa, that gave me chills. Lynch's film is what originally got me into the series.
The lip syncing is good, but I find Irulan herself to be very stiff (as you say, breathing and such would help a lot). It's also be nice if that incense burner/hologram unit would show more stuff to illustrate the narration. A globe of Arrakis while she's talking about the planet, for example...
Beautiful tribute, in any case. I want to watch the film again, now.

That gave me chills. Lynch's Dune is what introduced me to the series, and I still prefer it to the miniseries any day.
Excellent tribute. My only real criticism is that Irulan looks far too stiff when speaking (although the lip synching itself is very good). Also, it would have been cool if that funky incense/hologram unit showed more images as she was narrating. A globe of Arrakis while she's talking about the planet, for example...

Wow... amazing! The pixely 3d brings back memories of the original Dune games, and of course the movie! Voice acting is top notch, too.

Speaking for many serious fans of the series, I must say this is an admirable work. I myself have been fascinated with the original Jodorowsky and Moebius visualization of Dune, particularly in the organic "semen" ships and the mutant characters (white-haired Paul stands out). If you wish to make a CGI film of that vision based largely on the early scripts, I'd surely stand behind you in hopes you'd get something concrete done.
Until then, I thought I'd point you to this project: [link]
While not as grand as you seem to be hinting at, this man is currently updating the special effects of the Lynch adaptation with modern technology. Most of the updates are bringing the environments and technology in-line with the concept art, but a few other things (such as true flapping-ornithopters) are an original endeavor. He's also in contact with some of the people that actually worked on the film.
So, who knows, maybe you can help each other out in some way. Cheers.

Great, I like it very much
As you're aware of the issues with "breathing, animation and all", I don't have much critique to add, only I believe that the "D U N E" lettering appears too suddenly (some transition effects would help).
Can't wait to see more Good luck.

Please please please hook up with some studio / media a-holes and make this movie.
Sooo, nice. I have to agree with some of the other posters, your work could make for the best version of Dune on the screen to date.
