(Keep in mind all of this is fictional)

The class 2s was built a year after the class 1 and X 1 in 1905 and was designed to be a mogul for mixed traffic work.

They ended up being one of the most successful designs from HW as they didn’t stuffer from many mechanical faults however only 9 were ever built.
6 of them ended up with the LNER and LMS when grouping began and were given modifications put on a few branch lines.

3 of the ones the LMS got had a missing tenders so they all got Fowler tenders which proved to be much better than their old ones.

They did their work well enough that they lasted into nationalization.

Unfortunately at around the time the BR standards were rolled out the remaining 4 were withdrawn.

Fortunately 2 are in preservation

“Robert” is one the of engines modified by the LMS and is preserved in a Heritage railway in the Midlands

“Princeton” originally owned by the LNER in the grouping era is now preserved on NWR
