You are master on the blending part. I saw an interesting thing in the forelast phase. I am very new at drawing, but I do use the same, saw-off "destroy-your-eraser"-trick to create a "white" pencil. Mostly I edge it even with a light razor sharp pencil, flowing it over in that colour single stranded.

Wow, that's incredible!
I have to ask - how on Earth do you make the hair so realistic? It looks like you draw each strand separately.

Great work! May I ask how do you do the background? I love it

THE BACKGROUND IS BASICALLY A GRADIENT...DARK at top and gradually getting lighter toward the bottom. A whole lot of smudging with a tissue and some random "dark shapes" that were also blurred into the gradient ( really nothing too specific)...just go nuts, keep it blurry to show the focus on your subject!

Interesting to see your progression. I tend to start with the right eye and work from there. Being left handed it seems like everything is reversed from your technique. Thanks for sharing

Ah....I see. Until now, I had no idea that drawing loose strands of hair can be achieved by using that method.
How do you do your shading? Do you use a blending stick?

It's great seeing them all together like this. It's amazing how you can see such tiny imperfections - that I could never spot - and then fix them.

For someone like me [read: someone who cannot draw for love nor money], its actually really interesting to see this all come together. Excellent (really, excellent) work - you've really captured the emotion in the eyes (hell, the face as a whole). You really have a gift!
