You know... in the third Inuyasha movie... Inu-papa dies... in a burning building. Why did they figure they needed to do that, when the manga already stated that he was killed by Ryuukossei? So, this is just me saying "HA!" to the anime writers, in a lame attempt to give Inu-papa a slightly better death scene. Thus was born my very first piece of dramatic fanart ever. I actually spent a whole week and a half on this thing, but it mostly took that long because I only worked on it maybe an hour at a time. I'm so lazy.
I don't usually put any sort of descriptive background on my images, either, so this was a first for me, too. The Ryuukossei in the background was just traced off a screenshot, since, like I said, I'm lazy and I don't usually do backgrounds.

True but if he didnt have that wound the fire would have been nothing. So it was because he had the wound that he died. In the movie they show he was still there but he could have died from blood loss before the fire got him. Anyways the point I was trying to make was that if he wasnt injured he never would have died. but thats just the way I look at it and I hope your not taking me to be rude as i know some would.

I know you're not trying to be rude, I just consider the movies and filler to be "alternate universe" sorts of things if they mess with plot information that seemed fairly solid up until that point. The intro to movie 3 is nothing more than retcon, inserted so that the movie writers would have justification for all their other original plot tweaks that happened later.

Actually, it stated he was injured by the Ryu-what's-his-face THEN later died in a burning building. But anyway, I like the way the shadow covers Sesshy's face! I find that pretty cool! Man, I still wish I can draw at least half as good as ya'll!

okay, i LOVE the pic, bt i went back and re-read the Ryuukossei chapters, as well as watched the beginning of the third movie. Ryuukossei technically did kill Inutaisho, but before the wounds could kill him, the building apparently did. I'm not sure if that make smuch sence, but

The third movie is non-canon, though, so I interpret the storyline as if movies and filler don't exist.

I mean get real almost all the enemies in the show and in the movies just so happened to be Inu-papa's old foes, he was like some glorious battle god! I'm not saying that he was wrong to die for the woman he loved but they made his death too.......oh what's the word? sappy? over dramatic?...I dont know.....

Cliche and extremely overdone, methinks. I mean, sure it's romantic to die for the one you love, but like that? No. I'd be like, "YOUR DEATH SUCKS! COME BACK TO LIFE AND DO IT RIGHT!" That'd be an awesome epitaph, no?

Amazing - i did think that Inu-papa's death in the third movie was disappointing -this is better, much more emotional and dramatic.

A very touching scene. I too find it sad that he had to die in a burning building. But I guess it was more drama that way.
But I do find this more touching. Almost brings tears to your eyes. Poor Sesshoumaru having to hold his dying father...

Not excatly. He got his injuries from Ryokutsei but did not die from them right away. He had saved Inuyasha--when he was a baby--and his mother before he finally died.

Wow... I'm almost speechless. It's such a sad scene. I like this version of his death. It kinda reminds me of the drawing it did of sesshomaru crying. It does raise some questions though... Where was Sesshomaru when his father died. He could have been respecting him by letting him fight his own battle, but really, who knows? Oh well...Great picture
