You know... in the third Inuyasha movie... Inu-papa dies... in a burning building. Why did they figure they needed to do that, when the manga already stated that he was killed by Ryuukossei? So, this is just me saying "HA!" to the anime writers, in a lame attempt to give Inu-papa a slightly better death scene. Thus was born my very first piece of dramatic fanart ever. I actually spent a whole week and a half on this thing, but it mostly took that long because I only worked on it maybe an hour at a time. I'm so lazy.
I don't usually put any sort of descriptive background on my images, either, so this was a first for me, too. The Ryuukossei in the background was just traced off a screenshot, since, like I said, I'm lazy and I don't usually do backgrounds.

A lot of the wounds that he had came from Ryuukossei, and after much blood loss, fire, and continuing to fight, he finally died after saving Inu-Yasha and his mother.

Omg...that's awesome. That's definitaly more dramatic then dieing in a burning building.
But wait...if he died in the fight with Ryuukotsei, won't that mean he couldn't go to the castle and save Iziyoi and Inuyasha?
Anyway, Love it! I can't even begin to draw this good. I can't draw that well...BUT YOU CAN!

And.. about your anime-writers critique.. o.o well, I remember the manga said Inu-papa died because the hurt Ryuukossei did to him, but just because this ones were strong, not killed him inmediately.. and in the third movie, Sesshoumaru didn't want Inu-papa to go to the castle to save Izayoi because of the Ryuukossei hurt... and because of that, supposedly Inu-papa was weak enough to die fighting in the burning castle.
At least, that's what I know

I'm pretty sure that in the movie he had just got back from his fight with Ryuukossei. Thats why he was bleeding in the beginning of the movie. So techniqually he didn't die from the fire...

what i don't understand in the third movie is why the hell did the dad die??!!!!!!!!!!

I look at this and wonder if they had any last words together before Inupapa passed away. For all we know he could have been protecting Izayoi from Ryuukoutsei(sp?) and he could've asked Sesshoumaru to protect them, and the darkness on Sess's face could be anguish rather than sadness. Him angry at his powerful father for losing his life in such a "pitiful" way and vowing then and there that he'll never fall prey to suck emotional weakness.
His last words were probably "Someday, you'll see differently"
And of course, Sesshoumaru would be all "I doubt it"
and then he met Rin many, many years later. ^^

But, in the movie they said he died in the burning building, but he would have died anyway from his injuries that he got from Ryuukossei... so the movie can be on par with the story from the manga...

Inu-Taisho didn't die fighting ryuokosse11(can't spell). He used all his strength to seal him. He did die in the house saving Iyazoi and Inuyasha.

your right about the writers trying to give his father a better death 
plus, waaayyyy back in the first season when Myoga is telling InuYasha about Ryuukossei Myoga says "... his fight with Ryuukossei unltimatly resulted in his death..." , not "Ryuukossei killed your father." so maybe after all the writers knew that the story would change. but whatever! its matters not!

Yeah! I got the english version. I love this pic so much. I have also come to the conclusion that InuTaisho's Voice when saying "Wind Scar" beats Inuyasha's hands down!

Yeah, I know what the movie said. But I go by manga canon rather than anime canon, so there are a lot of anime-original ideas that I disregard, because they usually end up contradicting something.

Sesshoumaru looks really good in this. Bit ridiculous what the anime directors did though - though I've yet to watch the movie. But, nonetheless - you gave InuTaisho justice ^^

Wow... this drawing is amazing. I think it's actually good that there isn't a clear background, because it makes you focus on Sesshomaru and Inu-papa. You did great at portraiting the sadness in the scene, I became sad aftering see this picture.

All I have to say is it is a really cool pic. Never could come close to drawing that though... *sighs* I know he died by Ryokotssai, but I like your interpretation better. An amalgamation of yet better to think of pic. I love it and I have one question though. Why is Sesshoumaru-sama holding him. Is he grieving or what? I still think I go against people who say you are wrong in what you create, but your imagination is what it is. I think you still should continue what you draw like that. Even if it does take a long time. I'm still trying to draw something of Sesshoumar-sama and Inu-Taisho-sama. Oh well.

he does die from the dragon dude in a way, but not really. the burning fire was just how he died. he was already severely wounded, so the burning building just brought his death quicker.
i like the picture, it symbolizes the bond between fluffy & and his daddy. it's sad too, but still excellent. :smiles:

Well, since no one said it, I think I figured it out myself after watching the 3rd movie.
Indeed, in the series it indicated that Ryuukossei was the downfall of Inutaishou, but if you paid attention before the final battle with Takemaru it clearly shows that Inutaishou is bleeding and he tells Myoga that his wounds will be the death of him. Those wounds, came from Ryuukossei..Takemaru never actually 'kills' Inutaishou, Inu destroys Takemaru and the fire and wounds take Big Inu's life.

^_^* I still don't see it that way. This is a "the grain of rice that tips the scale" scenario. That's like loading a scale up with weights until it's teetering on equilibrium, then adding a grain of rice to the top of the weights, causing it to tip, then listing the weights as the cause of the tippage, because without them, the rice wouldn't have been able to do it. It just doesn't go like that.
The way it's written, it's like, "Well, even though the Inu no Taishou died in the fire, we're pretty sure the wounds from Ryuukossei WOULD have killed him, so we just passed it down in history like that. If we'd recorded that he died saving Inuyasha and his mother, that wouldn't be as cool."
