So... what exactly is the fandom's obsession with "Inuyasha's sister"? It's practically become some sort of cult following, of the sort, "Even though we never see her, she MUST exist!!!11" I mean, WTF? With all the Sister!Sues out there, it would seem like Inu-papa was the biggest manwhore in all of Japan. Not to mention a majority of them are younger sisters, meaning either Inu-papa was a cheating bastard, or Izayoi got the hankerin' for extra youkai-lovin' after he died.All of the Sister!Sues in this image are based off of actual Sue descriptions in fanfiction. A search of fanfiction.net for "Inuyasha's sister" returns about 300 results of fics submitted within the past WEEK. I didn't brave all of them. In fact, I only got through those half dozen before my brain fried. Among them were a girl who was both Inuyasha AND Kouga's sister, meaning Inu-papa had to boink Kouga's mom. And a girl who was 3/4 cat demon, despite Inu-papa being her father. And a blonde hanyou from the modern era, meaning that Inu-papa somehow traveled to the future and shagged an American. The list goes on... x___x
Inu-papa gets multiple letters a week on his column inquiring about Inuyasha's mysterious sister. Either that or it's someone claiming to be his long-lost daughter. I mean... isn't that a little insulting to go up to a guy and demand that you know more about his family and sex life than he does?

This is hysterical., especially considering that my Oc is 3/ cat demon and 1/4 dog demon. That's because her mom is a full car demon and her dad half dog demon, thi ugh and not related to inuYasha.

...I will admit, I made up a sister for Inuyasha back when I started watching it at age 13, and she was his twin, accidentally lost and forgotten the night Inu No Taisho died. I think she was found and raised by a dragon-like demon, before eventually meeting Sesshoumaru by happenstance.
Never really developed her, she was just an idea. And a couple drawings. However, I feel confidant in saying she never reached the level of THESE creations... 0.0

I like the idea of Inuyasha having a sister....just as long as certain criteria is met, namely being that 1) They are not the protagonist of the fic, 2) They are older than him and of course only his half sister and 3) they are Sesshomaru's full sister.
Meaning that the character is less likely to be a sue, their existences is logical and it doesn't make Inu no Tashio seem like a man whore because if the sister is Sesshomaru's full sister that just means he managed to knock up his first mate more than once, or Sesshomaru has a twin....or litter mate.
Though I'm partial to the idea of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru both having an older sister...or sisters. Like Sesshomaru was the youngest child and only son before Inuyasha came along.
And most people don't talk about the Inu no Tashio's daughter(s) because it is his sons who are his legacy while any daughters would be his first mates legacy/heirs
It could work with Inuyasha not knowing he had half sister(s) too, I mean maybe the sister(s) being tied to their mother's legacy was unconcerned and chose to never approach him.

Sorry, too funny to resist. Wow. I'm actually more for Kag/Sess loving and no Sister!Sues out in the world for EITHER of the brothers. They kinda creep me out, cause they usually don't make much sense and are not explained as to how they are who they are without things in the actually storyline/characters' lives being different or complete BS. I LOVE THIS PIC THOUGH!!! Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol I'm glad I can say that despite my total fan obsessions, I've never made a relative to any anime characters, nor made up something scatter brained fan fic that makes little to no sense. This is why I think it's better to make your own character for anime's and squeeze them into the story somehow without making the story go all over the place XP

no no the girl that follows InuYasha is mearly and orphaned demon child who despratly wants to have a family and is greatfull that InuYasha once saved her life. not the spawn of either of the two parents in InuYasha.I wanted her to have no real relation to him. She follows him like Rin follows Sesshomaru. So my inusister is not realy a sister at all she just calls him big brother and he allows her to be with him. its the main plot of my developing story.

Well I think that he also had an influence in Kianae's life for being her father, but she is actually older than Inuyasha and younger than Sesshomaru. ...Is that Kikyou with cat ears? They look like gender-bent versions of existing characters, which is probably what was in those fics, right? I did a search of my own, but with just 'sister' and it seems Kagome has a little sister that no one know about. You're braver than me because I couldn't bare to read any of them.
Anyway, love the parents here. Inupapa looks so....bummed out. The long mouth makes me chuckle whnever I look at it. Izayoi looks great too, arms crossed with that question. love the pic

No, it's not Kikyou. I drew her based on this description from the fic I found:
"The girl looked no older than thirteen, with raven-black, waist-length hair that flowed about her gracefully. Perched atop her head were two midnight- black dog ears that twitched now and then. She was dressed the way a miko would dress, staring at the defeated youkai with a triumphant gleam in her golden eyes."
I only saved the flowery descriptions of the sisters for reference, so I don't know the names of any of the stories these were inspired from.

Actually, siblings for Inuyasha and Sesshomaru are perfectly possible. Their father lived a long life, there is no telling how many women, demon and human, that he had relationships with. I think the only reason he acknowledged Sesshomaru as his is because he was either the eldest or the marriage to Sesshomaru's mother was arranged and he claimed Inuyasha because he was genuinely in love with Inuyasha's mother.
