Description: One of the largest and heaviest of all primates, among the most intelligent of all primates(although rivaling the intelligence and size towards humans). The Brains and The Brawns all together, is the gorilla! Earlier as long time ago, humans depicted that gorillas are strong, savage and "blood-thirsty" killers that can terrorize anyone when escaping from zoos, while that the 24 foot tall gorilla named "King Kong," has a reputation of a power monster whose a hero who saves a woman from a carnosaur/tyrannosaur/megalosaur/ceratosaur-like theropod dinosaur, which makes Donkey Kong, the Kongs, and King Kong popular! But actually in present day, gorillas are shy and gentle giants who are closely related to chimpanzees and us humans. Unlike orang-e-tans which they are solitary but social, gorillas are highly social, which they lived in herds called "troops," which consisted of one adult male or an old male whose a silverback, several females, and their offspring(baby gorillas are also called infants, babies, or cubs). They are vegetarians, and they played together when they were cubs, although they stayed with the herd. The male will be so angry and savage at anyone who threatened the troop. An old male with whitish marks on his back is called, a silverback. The advice to you was, "DON'T CALL THE GORILLAS, MONKEYS!" Because the gorilla is NOT a monkey! It is an ape! The predators of the gorillas are not only us humans as poachers, but leopards. Did you know that gorillas are endangered species?
