Description
Goniurosaurus Geisha, suggestively licking her delicate snout. An anthropomorphization of Katana, my pet Hainan Island Cave Gecko (Goniurosaurus hainanensis).
She was born in the wild, collected from the Hainan Island region of China, shipped to Europe and after changing hands, being swapped and passed around, I bought her in poor condition off an ex-boss of mine for an incredibly measly sum.
Katana had an enormous blister behind her right eye, Metabolic Bone Disease swollen ankles, she was dehydrated, underweight, dull colured with stress and had recently lost two thirds of her tail.
Now her blister is long gone, the swellings have abaited, her skin has coloured up beautifully, she looks positively well rounded and is well along the way developing the regenerated bulb on the end of her tail to replace what has been lost. I'd even wager that she'll drop me a couple of eggs within the next six months.
(Goniurosaurus hainanensis; formerly Goniurosaurus lichtenfelderi hainanensis, has since been elevated to full species status.)

Geckos have the most beautiful and elegant faces. Wonderful transition to anthropomorphic shape, love all the fine details.
Good to hear a happy result for your gecko (my rescue axololtl is thriving)
