Description ...is worth two in the bush.

Inspired by steeljaw and Digitalshark, but mostly by a piccy of a stripy dogfish-esque shark on google. I had intended to draw a great white/blue/mako with wings like a hawk, the feathers exchanged for fins, but when I saw this piccy, I thought 'monarch butterfly!', and thus this did happen.

Now, would this delicate monarch fish glide around the colourful gardens of tropical corals as a carefree lord of it's domain, or would this carnivorous dogfighter cruise around bright flowerbeds as a prowling predator looking for it's next mealticket? SeaButterfly, or SkyShark?

Eye candy, totally eye candy!  Awesome, beautiful, and I dare say as colorful fins it's realistic!  Ever seen a freshwater butterfly fish?  They look like they have real wings.

Just some cheapy beginner's watercolour crayons and really really cheap and nasty economy printer paper (its so thin it's like bogroll!)

It's a bit rough really, but I couldn't be bothered to get up and fetch a pencil sharpener for a good while into colouring it. :d

That's too cool. Love the combination of the species, they seem to go together so well. Some of the lesser known bamboo sharks, catsharks and dogfish go overlooked as art subjects, which is a shame. This guy reminds me of the brownbanded bamboo shark we have at the aquarium where I volunteer, though ours doesn't have butterfly wings. ;>

And my vote is skyshark. Vicious little hunter who roots out unsuspecting prey from among the daffodills! ;>
