The Little Mermaid saw the strange flying creature, and wondered what it would be like to swim through air instead of water. She felt strangely sad, as it moved away, wishing she could follow it onto the land, wishing she could walk with the two-leggers through the sands. "Why must you always wish for more?" her sisters would ask. "Why can you not be satisfied with the things you have?"

The Little Mermaid did not know.

--I drew this over a year ago, in a rare fit of artistic genius. I decided to color it in Photoshop because the scan of the drawing didn't turn out quite as nice as the original. plus, color makes it seem more finished. if I ever get around to it, I'm going to write the story of MY Little Mermaid, but until then, she's just going to be this drawing, this one snapshot of a tale.

EDIT: I changed the colors around and added some shading and such, so I think it's an improvement, ne?
