Valentine is stunningly gorgeous and she knows it. She goes out of her way to buy lavish jewelry and enjoys spending her time at the most expensive stores in Canterlot. Her favorite pastimes include dazzling others (many a stallion or mare fawn foolishly over her, sending her love letters in an attempt to woo her and following her around in packs to dote on her every need) and, while she isn't tending to royal duties, she takes up modeling jobs under Photo Finish. While some jealous ponies perceive her as uppity and shallow, her friends know that she is able to look past her material possessions and find it in her heart to help others when they need it.

Valentine is capable of some degree of magic, despite being an earth pony, and can channel it through tokens of true love. Her favorite translator is a golden locket she received when she was just a filly- it resonates strongest with her and is the easiest to wield her magic through.
