when your mom send you through the postal service to try and "save" you but you end up living as a feral child in a swamp instead

OKAY THIS IS BASED OFF OF THE BACKSTORY FOR MY VERY FIRST MLP OC AND BRO
BRO IDK WHAT 8 Y/O ME WAS GOING THROUGH BUT IT WAS SOMETHING.

So the general gist for... uh... I'll be honest I don't remember her original name, I'm just gonna call her Dewey Crystal, it's probably close enough.
The gist for Dewey Crystal's backstory was that she was originally an Alicorn born during the "War between Ponies and the Chaos Bringers" (Because I watched WAY too much Inkrose, surprise surprise) and her parents were soldiers. When her mom gave birth in the war-camp place she and her husband were like "Oh crap, an Alicorn, gotta keep her safe and away from the Chaos Bringers" so they literally SECRETLY SENT THEIR NEWBORN CHILD THROUGH THE POSTAL SERVICE. Little miss Dewey Crystal ended up falling out of the postal-carrying-system-thing before she got to safety because... Alicorn intelligence I guess??? I mean, she ended up living and growing up by herself just fine.
The way she got her cutie mark is that she was caught in the middle of a battle between ponies and chaos bringers, and all the violence and hassle from the battle becomes so overwhelming she BLOWS UP EVERTHING IN A 100 FT. RADIUS. And what probably makes it worse is that 8 y/o me mentioned in the story (because yes, I had this written down) is that Dewey saw two familiar-looking ponies who were PROBABLY HER PARENTS in the battle where she blew everyone up. Which means she PROBABLY UNKNOWINGLY KILLED HER PARENTS.
Anyway after that she continues growing up and living by herself in the woods but eventually comes to Ponyville and is like "Hi!!! What's up guys??? " and everypony is just "Why tf is there another alicorn here." and she sees Princess Twilight and just goes "Oh... my... gosh... Another Alicorn!! Bestie!!! It's so good to finally have another alicorn friend!!!" and Twilight is just "HEATHEN HEATHEN HEATHEN HEATHEN HEATH-" and I stopped writing after that.

4/27/2021 UPDATE: I FOUND AN OLD PIECE OF ART THAT I THINK MIGHT BE HER I'M NOT SURE BUT IT SAYS "Magic Mist" IN THE CORNER SO APPARENTLY THAT WAS HER NAME, HERE'S THE DRAWING IT'S SO OLD IM GONNA CRY sta.sh/0udew29tfjb

Like, she literally lived completely alone, no friends, no nothing, and still somehow grew up to be sane and functional????
nonononono CLEARLY I needed to do something about this.

So I sort of "Remade" Dewey Crystal to be a bit more interesting and less.. uh... Mary Sue Clone?
So, her story is kind of similar??? She was a normal Unicorn, born during a not-so-good time. So, in order to at least TRY and save Dewey, her parents sent her through some sort of transportation service in secret when she was just a toddler. But THIS time, when Dewey Crystal escapes, she's completely by herself. She's stuck in a swamp in the middle of nowhere, alone, for decades. She doesn't meet a single other pony growing up, so whenever she sees or finds another creature she's unfamiliar with, she becomes terrified and hides away. She probably got her cutie mark by doing something that helped her survive. Like.. maybe she found out how to filter the muddy swamp water with her magic so she could have clean water to drink and that's how she got her cutie mark? idk, that's still up in the air.
Basically Dewey Crystal is now like 120 years old and lives as a swamp witch and is hanging on by a thread.

I GUESS if you want a sort of "happy ending" for her, let's say my other MLP OC, Herbal Autumn, after running away from Equestria, ends up finding Dewey. And despite having vastly different life experiences, they both form a bit of a bond from living alone in the woods, and Herbal eventually convinces Dewey to come out of her swamp-shell and see the rest of the world. Tiny feral child vs. malnourished feral swamp witch, yes please.

Anyway this has gotten way too long I'm so sorry for anyone who decided to go and read through that, you deserve all the love and affection in the world boo.
