For context, in the Matsuriverse, the Akimichi and Kagan clans have had a good relationship for decades. It's not as tight-knit as their bond with the Nara and Yamanaka clans, but it's close enough that it's not uncommon for members from each to end up marrying into one another, hence how the Akimichi's body expansion jutsu found itself being used by ninja like Hibari. What this means for the two is up in the air (and, no, they will not be shipped. Sorry.).
