Wow this is just awesome. I like how it's unfocused around the edges and how the saturation has been lowered. The black bars on the bottom and top kind of give it a cinematic feel. This is really a beautiful shot. Well beautiful in a twisted Macabre kind of way.

I glanced over the picture quickly and noticed nothing strange. But upon closer inspection I saw the hand, and it filled me with emotion. Such a simple piece, but so well-executed. I love it.

At first I skimmed over the hand because I thought it was a branch, and when I was looking at the rest of the photo my eyes suddenly focused on the hand and my jaw just fell open! Great perspective and use of lighting! It's quite creepy without being gruesome.

I found this to be very disturbing.
I guess that means you've done a very good job on the photo. Being a former police officer, these scenes are not new to me and it does tend to stir up old memories and emotions. This shot is far more realistic than you realize.
I guess all this means you have achieved your goal. Congratulations.
