Description
As has been requested, I'll say it right here; I did not draw this. I will not claim that I did, nor did I make any of the resources visible in the finished piece. I did however make the brushes I used to apply certain effects.Just a little something I made to use as a login BG. Enjoy!
I know it's nothing impressive, but I couldn't think of anything else to add.

Original Background Stock: Daniel K.
If any proof of either the render or stock are needed then I can cite what I know. I did not render Stocking myself, it was already done.

I'm currently in the process of obtaining written permission from the original artist (The one who drew the picture of Stocking before it was rendered) so those who wish for that permission will have it. Please wait patiently as I will.

In my case, I'm using a render that has been approved for free-use, credit or not. Plus, I've lost my original source of who the renderer was.

I always check before I upload, even though I forget to credit often. I have never, and will never, upload anything I've put together if it contains something I don't have permission to use. I am not a thief, nor will I ever be called one.

I don't like that fact that pictures that people didn't draw are uploaded to this site like facebook, photobucket, or other image hosting sites. Seriously, that is just wrong. It isn't artwork, it is like if I shoved Charlie Sheens head on a pikachu. This site seriously has lately just been getting on my nerves. Time to move on and find a new site that actually has restrictions on what can and can not be uploaded. I am tired of seeing, stolen, rendered, sluts, myspace type of photo's on the front page. I am tired of seeing something that needs hardly no talent getting views, while other beautiful artwork that the artist took days and hours to work on hardly get a glimpse. The system in place doesn't work...
This site has been taken over by the worst users I have seen within the past 5 years. This site has just become sad overall, and depressing when looking through what people are viewing over all.

And I agree with you a lot. The system in place takes WAY too long. Hell, if they did this thing where if a certain amount of people reported a deviation, it would be removed, it would be way more efficient. I swear, I reported something a month ago and no one's seen it.

I can actually attest to that. A friend of mine once found a picture on a random forum that he thought he liked. Do you know what he did? He uploaded it here and made out that it was his and he made it. I reported it with proof of dates and the EXIF data that he was a fraud; Nothing was done. Nothing's been done to this day.

Wow. I will admit though, you seem pretty reasonable and intelligent compared to other people I've seen. I've read the comments on this piece. Good luck with getting the permission, it is a really pretty edit.

I agree. If They Didn't draw Something from hand, OR if you prefer 3D art, and if they didn't MAKE it by hand ( that means like stealing someones pictures in this case ) Then it shouldn't be uploaded. But i kinda had to laugh when you said "Charlie Sheens head on a pikachu." XD
But i do agree. My sister said that dA has become really depressing because of how lazy people have gotten now and days.

As I previously stated; dA has become the site to promote art in all its forms. Regardless of whether near nothing has been done, or whether the specific piece was made from scratch. I never claimed to have a lot of skill (If any at all), nor did I claim to have made the render itself, or the background. I get a little sick of haters like you not accepting new styles of art. If people like it, then it can be considered art. A certain few need to get over themselves and start moving into the present. Some of the pieces on dA are simple, intricate, interesting, vague, boring, even completely contradictory, but they are still considered art, and I respect that. You should respect it too, otherwise you are no better than a simpleton making derogatory comments.

well even if you hadnt drawn it yourself, and just used stock from other people
you still put together two nice pictures to make it one even better picture
and i like very much the effect you added around and on stocking, i think it is realy what makes this picture or me

This is the only copy of the picture itself that I can find pre-uploaded, as I seem to have deleted the original archive that I extracted it from, not to mention the multitude of crashes I've suffered.

just because u cant draw for yourself doesnt mean that you should be demeaned and sloughtered for trying to do art, even just by putting things together on photoshop or something! but maybe next time do credit and add links to the people you used stock from.

So if a person spent 6 hours working on a drawing, and someone just ripped out the background and used it in something without their permission, would it be perfectly fine?

from what i read of all of the comments, they were free to use.
and i am not complimenting and giving him credit on the drawing itselfe, just the fact that he was able to put the two pictures together, how he chose those two pictures, added and effect and made them work together. i like the combination. he never said he drew it- ...or she.....sheesh....im not chekng XD -and i never said that they drew it ither!

well if the artist ever sees this and has a problem with it then ok theyl have to deal with the artists wrath! i myself would be honored if my work was used for something like this, yes as long as i know just so that i can see.
but i think the most important part is that he isnt taking credit for it at all!

In all honesty I think some people just need to get off their high-horse and accept that art is art. If it's considered nice, or pretty, then it may be considered art. Nothing in this picture is proven as stolen, and until it is, I will not stand for being insulted.
