My Facebook page: [link]I've never played any of the Devil May Cry games before, but when I started getting into this I absolutely loved it, just completed the game today actually. SO EPIC! And the music to the game is amazing, I have a few new favorite bands to listen to now.
With this piece I wanted to portray the epicness that the game throws out so well. And show off how badass Dante can really be, I love his character concept, everything just works so well. I want to do another pic with him using his sword, I'm also hoping to find a good real life replica of his new sword, damn that would look sweet on my wall

This made me chuckle, in a good way! I've been awaiting some new DMC fan art on here ever since DMC 5 released so you have just made my day! And I completely agree, awesome game, wicked music and everything else! Completed it today myself, wish it would have been a bit longer, but hey ho, onwards to "Son of Sparda"!

I gotta say it's actually nice to see some DmC reboot art here. Alotta people are afraid to draw it cuz they know they'll get attacked by angry fans of the originals. I mean, I AM a fan of the originals but I liked the new one as well. And this image is really well done. Nice job. I just wish people would stop letting their hate for the new one cloud their judgement of a picture.

If they kept the old Dante, this game's criticism would diminish rapidly. That's where most of they complaints are from anyway. Besides, old Dante is hilarious.

Yeah that's true. The hate would diminish pretty much completely. I mean I DO understand people being upset. Not many people like change. And yes old Dante was pretty hilarious. Well except for 2's Dante. I havent played that one but I heard he was soooo serious haha.

DMC 3 and 4 are the games in which Dante rivaled Deadpool in humor. And the game doesn't look bad( new DMC, but the interpretation of Dante is 85% the reason why people complain. Although the the ending of ME3 was more reasonable, if you hate the guy you're playing as, that could experience.

I prefer this new reboot over the rest, and I played them all and loved them. This work is amazing and I feel it depicts this new Dante well. I love the mood and animation going on. His weapons are some of the best I've seen. He's a teen and rebelious, trying to find who he is. Personally, the DT is awesome. Did you see the Angel Trigger concept??? Interesting idea. As this is what the game is. Hard work was put into making this idea.
If time, try out the HD DMC, even if the textures are still a bit blurry(updated) and whatnot. This series isn't trying to replace the old, which I think people feel among other reasons. It's just trying to resurrect it and give it something 'new' for the new gen games to compete with. It's a DMC game and then it's not at the same time. It's a new generation. It works well with this time, not the old ps2 stuff. Though, I still enjoy the old games.
The dialog, I found hilarious. There's the Vergil dlc, if you preordered. I love the overall designs, too. The concept work is...something I'd love to acquire.

As much as I despise this new reboot, I was willing to give it a chance (played demo only, still thinking about actually buying the game). it was alright, but I still approve on the Original DMC series, you should try them sometime when you get a chance to. By art wise you really outdone yourself it's really amazing!

I hated on this till i played the Demo; then i thought wait a sec, this ain't bad at all.
I just started the retail release AND IT's GREAT.
O and did i mention the game garnered just about positive reviews across the table?

Never played any? Dude, do yourself a favor, go pick up the HD collection and play 3. Stay away from 2(which was made by a different team, was pretty much entirely shit, and even thought they pulled it together to make 3 one of the best games of all times, many were scared away by the shit that was 2...) And give 1 a go to see where it all began.

I mean, the face is a man's face. The new Dante is a kid — a really, really badass kid, but still, a kid. Also, the chest is far too buffy. The hair and the scrawny limbs are right, though, not to say the demons.

If you want to play a REAL epic game, go play Devil May Cry 1 or 3. The original series.
Then you'll see how crappy this reboot is.

Dont be so ridiculous. I'm a fan of the original series, I 100% completed 1 and 4 in particular, and I really enjoy the new one. It's less childish. The theme and designs feel closer to Dante Alighieri's work and traditional hebrew/catholic demonology. The characters and enemies are brilliantly designed, and the level designs in particular are the strongest of any game i've seen in a while.

I wouldn't give a flying fuck if this game was a new license. What bothers me is the fact it's labelled "Devil May Cry". Because it has nothing in common with the original series.
With this statement, here's what particularly annoys me in this reboot:
1)The plot and dialogues are incredibly stupid and vulgar. "Fuck you!" and "my dick is bigger than yours" could sum up the whole game.
2)The main character is a complete twat who tries to look tough but acts like a pussy. One instant it's "I'm Dante, and big badass motherfucher, suck my d***" and the other it's "oh man life is so complicated, I want my mommy back and I want to be human but I'm not..."
3)Nonsense.
Classic Dante is half-human/half demon. This one is half-angel/half-demon, AND call himself a Nephilim. That's pretty ironic since Nephilims are the offspring of Angels/Fallen Angels and humans.
4)I don't see where it's supposed to look closer to Dante Alighieri's work. At least in DMC 3 you meet demons from the Nine Circles of Hell.
5)The Art Direction and global design make my eyes bleed. Yes.
Colors are over saturated, blurry and seem to leak. Not to mention the flashy/cyber segments which almost gave me a seizure.
On the contrary, the bestiary's design is so dull it makes you want to cry. I've seen things faaaaaaaaaar more creative than this. Seriously, it looks like it took them only one afternoon to design all the enemies and bosses.

I'm really not interested in the way they depicted this lame-gangsta/graffiti universe.
In a nutshell, what I really reproach to this game is its overall lack of charm and poetic vibe. That's what I loved in the previous games, and that's why I have absolutely no interest in this reboot.

- The characters are hard set in teen movie stereotypes (the government is evil, the media are evil... oh look boobs) the main girl is there just to be a love interest, Mundus looks cool but has little to no screen time and Vergil is just there to turn into a bad guy in the end, not a spoiler it was displayed in the trailers long ago.
- The main character is not likable, sure he has a troubled past and stuff but he acts like a complete jackass not because of character development but because the developers thought it will look cool. He's like a 10 year old that thinks that if he say "fuck" allot it will make him coll.
- Immature, stupid dialogs (- Fuck you!; - No fuck you!!!)where people swear for the sake of swearing not to convey emotions.
On the plus side though the game has a good combat system (still a lock on feature would be nice), the levels in limbo are design nice. The game just doesn't feel like a DMC game. It lost it's over the top feel of awesomeness that shoots you into orbit and power slams you back to the ground.
Over all it's a good game but not a good DMC game.
