So it's been a while since I've done a real piece, with a full background and other characters and things. So I really wanted to make this one full on
This is some fanart for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Rising which is going to be awesome! And I really wanted to show off the games' new feature.. Where you get
to slice up absolutely anything with your kick-ass sword
You'll notice the there's a guy crushed by the fallen structure behind (as seen on the trailer, Raiden slices the pillars), plus there's the guy watching himself fall in
two pieces.. And a little something in the foreground to top it off..

Also a quick question for you MGS fans..
Do you think Raiden will ever be as good as Snake?
I mean come on.. he was pretty badass in MGS4

Honestly, my first "meet" with Metal Gear Rising when I bought Zone of the Enders HD Collection for PS3 and and I really enjoyed them e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Back to the pic, it's hard to find words to this but... IT'S ABSOLUETY AMAZING. The action is very dynamic and love the way how you portayed Raiden (not the Mortal Kombat series' Thunder God but the cyborg ninja of Metal Gear series). The effects (spilling blood, sunshine etc.) are great, too and Patrick's comic-like art style is easily recognizable, too.
The other thing what I like here is the background. It's awesome and very detailed.
I definetly can imagine a Metal Gear cartoon in this style, too (LOL my silly imaginations...e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
So, we've got another masterpiece that it hasn't got any negative things (if the nearly Mature Content doesn't count here....)

I really like this picture and I am thinking about making it my background if that is alright with you. First of all, I would like to say that you are really talented and you made the picture perfect with your vision. However, I just see a couple technical flaws that make this less appealing to me. If Raiden, or any swordwielding person were to do a move like that they would attempt to maintain your balance and the arm would be less extended towards his back and more focused on his side if he were stopping, if he were running he would just use both hands to perform it so he can shift more amounts of weight more easily to balance faster. The placing of his feet, however, are telling me that he is stopping, so the opposite arm of his sword would probably be pointing to his immediate right to maintain balance, not saying Raiden needs it because he's beast-mode, but any normal ninja or sword-wielder would do so. Another thing I don't like is that his mouth is open, this was probably your intent to show his ravage attacks and his reactions, but Raiden is more of the calm and collected type of guy that would wear an indifferent type of face unless somebody really pissed him off. Also, just one other thing I don't like is that the picture itself shows a seriousness of blood and death except for ironically the soldier who is being killed, who kind of has a sort of comical look on his face that says "Hmmm, well that will leave a mark!" or some other silly caption like that and I would probably prefer more of an agonized face or a blank eyes-rolled-back already dead face. Just my preferences, I'm not a very good visual artist I guess, so I guess you can take this as a critique from a fan, overall amazing picture though e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

People say things about Raiden as if he magically turned into a badass. I say he was always a badass. He took on four metal gears at once in his FIRST game. If you do that you are automatically a badass. Second is that he never stopped using his sword since then. Snake uses a bunch of cool tactics and weapons but if you face down small armies with nothing but a sword your arguments are invalid.
In summary he is not the lighting in the storm. HE IS THE TORNADO FUCKING SHIT UP!

He was always pretty badass but I think this game emphasised it for us. Ever since his first game I never let go of that sword and he's been carving people up ever since.

I hate this game so much, because it completely pisses on Metal Gear. Hated Raiden in 4 too.

How can you hate a game that hasn't even been released yet? Also there's a reason why it's called a standalone game. Whatever happens in this game will have very little effect on the story in Metal Gear Solid 4.
PS: I also hated Raiden with a passion...in Metal Gear Solid 2, when a guy loses his all limbs, his wife leaving him for guy twice as old as him and a son that hasn't even heard of his name. A little sympathy is kinda mandatory for the guy.
