Description
Aka....''The Great Jellyfish Race'' I found my old Apophysis 2.20beta flame for my earlier 'jellyfish' that I used for the original "Denizens of the Deep" [link] and got a chance to play with the edit window using the original flame, producing some more 'jellies' variations and using several more gradients, as well, increasing my collection of jellyfish to a couple dozen or so...This is of a size suitable for use as a wallpaper, too.

Glad you liked it! And, thank you for the

Thank you! Glad you like it! I must have spent most of an afternoon and evening rendering ''jellies'' and playing with the edit window. But, I couldn't quite get them look like the real jellyfish. Love your version.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! I must have rendered close to 25 to 30 of these li'l critters before picking those I wanted to ''layer'' on to this gradient background. Also, thank you for the , too!

Glad you liked it! Thank you! I also have this available as a 5''x7'' notecard, too. I must have about 20-25 of these little critters that I rendered in my seascape files. That's what I like about the *.PNG transparencies...I can layer lots of stuff on a pix. One of my landscapes must have over 60 different layers/fractals in the collage.

Anything in my gallery can be put on cards, too. I've put some of them in little plastic holders that are made for photographs for shelf displays... My sis had picked them up at an office supply place... They usually would hold sales info./prices. They work great for displaying post cards, 4x6 photos and the 5x7 cards.

Just browsing through the Fractal gallery and this really caught my eye, mainly because I've been working on something that resembles a jellyfish and it isn't nearly as captivating as yours lol. The colors are outstanding. And then I noticed your name, and think I remember you from the Apo list. I've been away from Apo for a couple of years and uh .. I'm rambling, sorry. I'm new to dA and hope you won't mind if I watch you.

Yup..I'm in and out of the APO list now and then.
Glad you liked the piece. And, thanks for adding me to your "watch list"...enjoy your visits to my gallery.
The first ''Denizens'' I came up with early on and used the Apo background. I had thought I'd lost the parameters, but, later when I figured out how to play around with the edit window, I stumbled on the old file and decided to rework it as the PNG transparencies. I must have come up with a couple dozen of these ''jellies'' that I used in layering up to produce this piece. I used the more interesting 'jellies' of them for the pix. I like to make collages using the Apo flames to produce my pix, though I also have stand alones, too.
And, enjoy DA, too, I do. Love all the people I meet here.

I'm just now starting to fully explore the mysteries of the edit window, and am doing the same - resurrecting and playing with parameters from 2-3 years ago. I haven't yet experimented with transparent bgs or layering though. Perhaps in time ... and with a measure of patience.
Thanks.

Being that I have Photoshop, I like to put my own backgrounds on the fractals. It's nice in that one can have a gradient treated background instead of the solid color of Apo. Plus, one can add shadows behind the fractals, too. Even textures make for neat background treatments.

Gradient backgrounds, shadows and textures - all excellent ideas that I will attempt once I feel more confident about my fractals.
Thanks again for inspiration and geniality.

You can check out my stuff in the gallery for what I did for backgrounds. I usually note what I did in the description of each piece. Or, at least I try to make a note of it.

I couldn't believe the size of his head! And, I think he isn't even full grown yet...judging from the article with the pictures. There were some liger cubs at our local zoo for a while a bit over a year ago. They were here for a couple of months.
