one of the parts that always struck me in the first disney 'alice in wonderland' is why alice didn't scream when she fell down the hole . . .I started this drawing BEFORE I went to see the movie, alright?! Haha, who doesn't have Alice fever right now though, xD; even my boyfriend was more hyped to see it than I was, which is saying something considering I was pretty darn excited. This will be a print for sale at Anime Evolution this year!

I rewatched the 1951 version recently and the only reason that I can discern why she wasn't screaming her lungs out the whole time was because her dress was working as a parachute, slowing her fall. There's no need to scream when you're safely floating lol.
I like the card design and how Alice looks more mature in this picture. Nice work.

I've had Alice fever forever, and so absolutely stoked when I first found out about the movie last year. Sad to say I haven't been able to see it yet. =\ I planned to see it when it came out, but got sick on that day. Then life followed suit to get in the way. >_<

I've always loved Alice, and to be honest am a little sad that at the moment it's cliche to think so xD; I would have liked the movie to be creepier, I guess? I thought tim burton would put more of his flare into it, but in the end, disney conquers all ... not too shabby though, I must say.

And yes, Alice has become a bit of a cliche now, those who have never given it a thought before are all over it now. Hopefully it'll die down and get back to being peaceful with it again, lol.

She didn't scream because she's a curious child. Or at least, the Alice in Lewis Carroll's novels was a bit unusual. On the other hand, some of us can't scream at all (I can't).

I dunno, I always thought it was really interesting how she's frightened of other things throughout the story, just not the initial falling. Bizarre story though, for sure!

Now that you mention it, that does seem rather odd. Although, when I originally saw the drawing I thought the title was in reference to the tea spilled on her hand. Hot tea is HOT!
