I could argue for hours about Shirow's weapon designs being practical (or even plausible), but this is definately an impressive recreation. I like the textures you apply to your older works.

Actually, in most situations a Bullpup config weapon is completely superior to standard config weapons. You can make the barrel longer for the same amount of space, you can use your firearm in close quarters extremely well, and a whole slue of other things that I will not go into here. The only reason most nations don't switch is because a) logistics, b) retraining your entire military to use these things is... expensive, c) many nations only change to a new standard arm if its utterly superior to the previous one, and d) the center of gravity of the weapon is a wee bit funky to say at the least.
This has that certain technophilliac American hating manga creator's fingerprints all over it though...
