Nice
Bought a few small wood sheets and I'm having a blast painting on 'em!I only miss the sound of the brush strokes.Other than that, wood rock so much!

Thanks- funny you should mention wood panels...I've been painting on these canvas boards and cant stand the texture showing in the final painting. I;m thinking of going back to MDF board and higher quality canvas panels with less surface texture. Wood panels would be great too- just have to find some in my town

Yep, that's one of the things that I liked the best is that the rough texture of the surface doesn't pop up after you're done painting and, at least to me, it seems the paint flows so much better! It's weird but I feel like I can use less paint and thin it less than if I was going for it on a canvas.I'm looking for better quality panels as well, the ones I bought is just for the experimenting sake.
One question...Can I put on gesso on top of the paint to create texture or is it not very wise to do so?Sorry for bothering and thanks

No bother at all---to answer your question, never paint acrylic (gesso) over oils- there is no adhesion. Oils can go over acrylics, but it's best to use a coat of matte medium before using the oils so they have a better physical bond.
Do the gesso texture before you paint over it in oils.
Also, you;re correct about using less paint when painting on panels- there is less surface area to cover- it also dries quicker since it's surface is more exposed to the air (oxidation)
