Description
This a bit of the new doll I'm working on, the one with a Mardi Gras theme. I love the hands on this doll and am proud to show them off! I try to make the cloth hands as dainty as possible and well I feel that usually the fingers are too big. But these hands are turning out pretty much the way I like!!!Related content

you have nice finger nails. and you create a lovely hand. you are like geppeto in pinocchio... one day the doll will become a real boy or girl!

I have tried to make the hands from the patterns I bought from you but I always end up making the mitten style ones LOL, I just don't have what it takes to make such amazingly delicate little fingers.

That's as small as I dare go too! I've practiced making them for years, and every now and then a pair of hands look really good! Thank you...

I sew them by machine, clip the curves and in between the fingers, add a little tacky glue to the small seam allowance between the fingers so they won't rip out when I turn them. I use a "hemostat" to reach up inside the fingers and grab hold of the inside and turn them right side out. I didn't use stuffing in these hands, I used fuzzy chenille stems, the fingers can be positioned like real fingers... I use plain old cotton fabric, non stretch.

actually a hemostat looks like scissors, but they don't cut, they're more like a tweezer....
Thanks! but I learned the techniques from other dollmakers and just adapt them to the way I need to use them...
