Description
A very fun commission for , with his alternate Doctor (and companion!) returning to the Death Zone on Gallifrey, only to be menaced by Drashigs, Macra, Krynoids... and a very surly Taran Woodbeast. Yikes!
Somehow I feel this has to be part of the same story as this other recent commission I did:

I love that there's a Taran Wood Beast in Rassilon's Death Zone! The Drashig (my favorite monster) looks terrific, in fact, the whole picture is just absolutely fantastic!

We sort of had one with that one scene in the fall of eleven. and the ninth doctor was a buzz cut which kindof counts.

Glad I'm not the only one who's personal take on the next Doctor stripped him of all his hair. With his obsession with being ginger, can you just imagine the hilarity that would come with his discovering he's regenerated bald?

Well, if I'd thought to pose as him back when I was younger he'd have had hair as long as his companion but sadly those days are long gone (I do plan a "post-regeneration" scene with the Doctor reacting to his sudden lack of hair at some point)

The first thing that came to my mind was the Doctor mentioned in the Big Finish short drama Urgent Calls; the character Lauren mentions she was visited by a short bald Doctor

A bald Doctor? Cool. I like him because he reminds me of the guy from the Cyrstal Maze. He was always very Doctorish.

That'd be the great Richard "Riff Raff" O'Brien you're thinking of [link] - and yes, he would've made an amazing Doctor. I believe his name was actually one of the ones thrown around (along with 40 or so others) during the buildup to what eventually became the '96 TV movie with Paul McGann. So I guess in that sense he'd be an "alternate" 8th Doctor of sorts.

I actually have my own original Doctor idea that I'd love to do some art for some day, but god knows when I'd ever find the time for that luxury.

The design? Not really. I used a photo I took of a Character Options toy of the JNT-era TARDIS as my ref (though I did make some alterations to the lamp). I guess it's just a "generic" TARDIS.
