It's a perfect contrast to emphasize the foreground from the background. Minimalist and well done

Great experiment I'd say you've succeeded beautifully. You've captured the windless delicacy of the traditional silk scrolls and with pencil no less.

It's always tricky and challenging to try something new. Once you've done the job and realized it's a masterpiece, you know you've found something to fall back to and perfect on. This is one of them. Great translation of a Chinese painting with graphite pencils. The leaves/tree look very much like it's drawn by ink. Tone and shading certainly does its job. When you venture into this again, howabout drawing on rice paper, something with texture and color; this gives an authentic feel. Try drawing with charcoal, which I think will show you a better result than graphite. I believe it'll be much more smoother.

Great work! It really does a great job in simulating, great job filling evenly enough for the graphite to look painted. ^_^

I like the final effect you achieved! I also suppose you didn't spent a lot of hours on this drawing... it seems a fast technique...
Lovely... you should draw a kind of series.

you're strange, paullung. why do you say "please comment" if it's obvious that people will comment? you should antecipate yourself and say "thanks if you comment", you know?

This is lovely. I don't know much about how such things are traditionally produced, but I don't think it matters. However you did it, it works!
