the only fact that it's in "popular" is enoguh alone. congratulations! Seeing a webdesign in popular always makes me happy.
Regarding the design, I was going to write a critique but decided not to anyway. So here's my opinion:
Colors used - absolutely amazing. The glowing effects you've added are on the right spots everywhere.
The structure though - it's pretty hard achieving and it'll be almost absolutely impossible to be cross-browser. I know there are only like 14-16% users still using IE6, but that's almost 1/5 of all users, so it's king of very important that they see the site the way it should be seen.
You'll need to hack it, so it reads png's the right way, which is making the site even heavier. Imagine s.o. with a 64mb video and 500 Mhz proc. I've always like that kind of designs too... which lokk almost like a software you've installed on your machine. But think of the users.
So many overlapping block and drop shadows. If you want it to be absolutely flexible it'll be very heavy. I'm making something like it now and I still can't show it due to some restrictions but anyway.
the job done is still amazing. and if the site doesn't need full flexibility it's even more amazing.

I know, I know.. though its not ment to get coded anyways. I know someone who can do it if its needed (some pro who helped me in the past) but indeed, it would be a bitch.
