Description This is the first drawing I did for the PowerGirl meme. I based the pose and body proportions off an actual female bodybuilder who still had a defined, large chest, more to see if the kind of body PowerGirl has would actually even exist in nature (apparently, it does, although not without plastic surgery and lots of steroids...).

I decided not to go with this pose for my submission, as I didn't like the pose as much, but I was still happy with the body and rendering, so I've tossed it up here for people to see. She's just on the edge of being a guy in drag, but other than hair and make-up, most of the photos I Googled were treading the same thin line.

Eh, it's all good. A good exercise between projects, just to keep in practice.

Awesome! And I just want to say... HA! I KNEW she had to have had plastic surgery to be that muscular AND have those gabonzas!

...which makes me wonder how someone who's invulnerable got plastic surgery...

Yeah that's something I've noticed about female bodybuilders. Once a woman bulks up so much she looks almost just like a man. Apparently after a while the body forms in the same manner. Again, I adore the costume and the look on her face frightens me intensely.

Excellent, I've inspired fear in a viewer. My work is done!

Wow, she is very muscular. Very nice! She must work out a lot. I wish my scanner wasnt so stuburn, that way my pictures wouldnt look so choppy. I really need to get a tablet.

Save your pennies, tablet RULE, and they really speed things up, so you can spend MORE time at the computer, which is always awesome.

I'm planning on getting a Wacom tablet. Which size do you recomend getting? They say to get a small one for college, but I dont know.

I'd say get whatever size you can afford. I got the big one for the home studio, but the little ones are great and portable. My friend Mark actually prefers the little ones so he can rest it in his lap to draw with.

Does it make a difference if it's really small or really big?

The only difference is if you are trying to achieve a more realistic surface to draw on, where you're moving your arm around and really using it as an easel type of drawing area. Then the big ones are better. But for everythig other than that, a small one gives you the ease of mouse control with your other hand (which is awesome, because I draw left handed) so I can have the stylus in my drawing hand and be doing key commands with my right hand, which is where the speed comes up significantly!

That's what I needed to know. Thank you very much.
