I like the composition and the colours a lot, but I'm not so keen on the comic-book outline around Applejack and Wynona... Though, that is very much a personal taste

Same here actually. After about halfway through I was just like, "...lets finish this and move on." lol. I kind of questioned about posting it. Don't know, what's your opinion on posting work that you're not 100% happy with? Do you ever do it?

Heh - all the time... Fresh eyes on stuff I make, may be exactly what I need to bring it further
I like it when people point out mistakes or things I could have done differently. Even if I don't amend, it gives me something to think on and may make my next piece better
