Philadelphia ZooIt was a cool day for these warm weather birds. they were all hanging out not really wanting to do much of anything, and about 12 of them all stared at me with their huge beaks tucked under their wings. they were really pretty though.

usually i'm not really interested in animal portraits, but this just caught my attention right away. it's stunningly detailed and intense (and like a bird is easily attracted to shiny objects, i'm quite keen on the colour red). also the stance of the parrot gives the picture a highly conceptual note, unlike the expressions of the lots and lots of animal snapshots i've encountered here on dA. to keep it short: very well done.

The eyes are so deep. and the fact that it is covering under its wing makes it so mysterious and daring. Yet, simple.
