I love these boys.Seriously i've never drawn a lombre or ludicolo, but after this i'm definitely gonna have to draw more because oh my god?? Alot of the fun behind this project is getting to draw pokemon i've never attempted to before, and finding out how to translate them into my style while still keeping them recognizable. I love how these turned out so muuucchhhh aaaaaa ;;A;;
Also! Seedot comes right after this in the pokedex, but they are one such pokemon that does not have a variant. They're only found in the coniferous petalburg woods. So next up will be tailow and wingull, who have an interesting dynamic.

Now for the spheel! Although the versions of pokemon that we know from the game are the most common forms in Leftovers, numerous (but not all) lines have variations. Whether for environmental reasons or regulatory. We've already seen a couple variations in comic so far, but I hope to go more into these in the future.
As for now, I hope you enjoy the little bit of worldbuilding here!

I've...actually NEVER heard of a tardigrade until this very moment but oh my god thank you?? They're such chunky cuties how could I have gone this long without knowing they exist?? As for lotad themselves, they actually canonically have 6 legs haha Which was kind of weird the first time I drew one because.....
what do with all those legs....
But now I have a direct creature to reference, so thanks again! I wouldn't be surprised if gamefreak took a bit of inspiration from tardigrades considering they're "water bears"

Holy fuck both lines are so darn cute! I absolutely love the Lotad line as is but the Sea Drifters are a version that I totally wish I had! Great job on making these variations btw, the changes aren't too crazy but they add a depth to the pokemon that really works.

This though. I love this! I feel the Ludicolo line doesn't get the love it deserves so it's amazing seeing alts like this in design! I like the subtle addition of the webbed membrane on the hands too! Makes total sense even for freshwater Ludicolo!

But Thanks! I definitely agree there, I don't see much of this line at all. I mean aside from the occasional detective pikachu ludicolo. Glad you're enjoying specific features of their designs, it's always fun to comb through a design and see what can be changed slightly to accomodate actual functionality in nature
