Description
Near the surface of the Early Jurassic seas, an Ichthyosaurus communis swims around to explore its environment; while doing so, it comes across a group of Arietites bucklandi, which are swimming around, looking for plankton to gulp up. Nearby, a Plesiosaurus dolichodeirus attempts to prey on a school of Dapedium politum, using its long neck and tiny head to sneak up on them.

My birthday (which was almost as nice as I hoped it would be) is about to come to an end, so I will finish it with a drawing that I've been working on for most of that day! I sent some polls that asked whether I should do the Blue Lias, Dinosaur Park, or the Liberty Limestone (Megalograptus, Endoceras, etc.); although Dinosaur Park had the edge beforehand, Blue Lias ended up winning by a long shot. Besides, it gives me an opportunity to depict ammonites in a different light (after all the "squid crammed in a shell" depictions I've made), so yay.

Anyways, to all my fellow deviantARTists who live in America, have a wonderful 4th of July tomorrow!
