Interesting piece I really like the overall shape of it and the colours they work nicely together. I like all the little details, its the attention to details which make a really great pot.

Thanks for the comment! I too felt happy with the result of the glaze. It was applied slightly thin so that some of the texture could show trough allowing for some variation in color. It's quite a durable and functional pot too! It's been helping me make some nice soups and stews for over 10 years now. . .

But, I didn't invent the shape. It's a standard cooking pot in just about every Japanese home.

The lid kind of functions as a bowl. At least it looks like a ramen bowl, but there is a hole in it for the purpose of releasing steam when it's a lid. It acts more as a place to rest a spoon or ladle. Same goes for the notch in the lid handle/bowl foot. A resting place for the cooking utensil.
All the colors come from one celadon glaze. The variation in color is a result of a thick to thin application.

Love the shape! The lid functions are a bowl as well, yes? And the mix of the green with the warm brown/orange is really great!
