Description
A version of Power Ranger story I had in my head. Want to make a comic book or something, but we'll see...
The year is 20XX. A man discovered an unique substance deep inside the moon. we called it the "Moon Stone". Scientists discovered special force in this substance, and found out that it gives super human power to whoever consumes it. The US military saw this as an opportunity to create a super army, however, the infusion of the stone gave super human ability, but caused a severe deformity, and became uncontrollable. The military tested these infusions on condemned prisoners as test subjects calling them Putties, and kept them in a secure facility. Since the discovery of the moonstone, a special entity started appearing from the center of the moon attacking the world. Scientists do not know what the purpose of these aliens are, but do know that they are connected somehow to the Moonstones. The US military formed a special force led by an Artificial Intelligence, ZORDON to combat these aliens, and also further experiment with the Moonstone. With ZORDON, the US government discovered that these special entities were controlled by single being the government calls, "The Witch" also named Rita Repulsa. However the government feel suspicious on how ZORDON was able to gain this information...
pardon my poor grammar and vocab...

Whoa! When it comes to Billy "Daddy Long Legs (Well, long everything)" Cranston; talk about morphin'! Dude looks inhuman... But he looks awesome!! Been looking for Mighty Morphin' redesigns that has organic-like forms. Particularly art that includes the Rangers' uniforms being the skin and bones of their respective animals and their helmets instead being their animals' head form-fitting theirs. And yes, it is a creepy concept. Yet figuratively spiritual; them becoming one with their animals. By the way, have you written if your MMPR's moon stones have connections to the Mastodon, Pterodactyl, etc.?

You're welc-a-delc and thank ya! Hmmm, considering they're called moon stones, maybe they harbor coin-like technology used by someone (Ninjor?) or multiple people from Eltar to "record" the physical attributes of the mastodon, sabertooth tiger when they were alive and the pterodactyl, triceratops, tyrannosaurus and dragon (That Thomas Oliver will use?) when they existed (They're strength level, speed capability, the pterodactyls' flight dynamics, etc.) by using Grid (Morphin' Grid) radiation (Radiation that is a stronger, more focused form of radiation than normal electromagnetic radiation in where the longest wavelength, red, has the weakest flow with orange being weaker, yellow weaker than that, then green, then blue, then indigo, then the shortest wavelength; violet while the Grid radiation's colors are in opposite sequence. (Simply to keep Red Rangers as the strongest) and input into the power into the coins. The only way to detect/use this radiation is by using sufficiently advanced technology (i.e. Eltarian tech? And technology Rita has access to).

thanks TheFFJUniverse for all the nice comments. I really appreciate them. the moon stones definitely have connections with the megazords, but haven't fleshed out the concepts yet. I have some early megazord ideas, but I wanted to redesign it again to fit this current design. Thanks for the input though. Do you have any ideas on how they are connected?

Oh, and for the Zords; those who used the coins of power (Aah? See what I did there? Aah?) used them for defense against the threat in your PR Universe to use the creatures' capabilities and make copies of them for their war vehicles aka Zords after noticing the ferocity used by these creatures in natural combat because they seemed unstoppable as organisms, thus they maybe thought "What about as our war vehicles?" and then thought "If they fail individually, our plan B for them is to become one in the form of our greatest warriors' physical capabilities. They'll become one big Zord; one Megazord" and then they thought "Let's fill our Zords with the Grid radiation/energy". When Grid energy is conducted through these machines, they gain the colors of the Grid spectrum because it also morphs the chemical structure that makes the particular wavelengths of colors reflect off of whatever in absorbing the other wavelengths. The wavelengths starts coursing through the strongest of the main five; tyrannosaurus cause it is the only Zord that can handle it without oversurging and reflects the red. Mastodon absorbs all wavelengths except indigo which maybe is dark enough to resemble black but is really a very dark indigo (Thus leading to Black Rangers always having that dark purplish glow?). The green wavelength is some weaker than red in GR but the Dragonzord would be able to rival Tyrannosaurus, even so with their respective Rangers, because the dragon's physical capabilities makes up for the strength the green wavelength lacks compared to red thus, of course, it reflects the green leading to eyes seeing it as green. All this of course works for the other Zords. These Zords need pilots. Thus with the moon stones having an organic morphing effect on any who physically contacts them, Zordon is looking for those who can handle it. Of course leading into what you have now.
Boom and bap and I hope that works. π

Oh yeah, I forgot you wrote Billy made Zordon as an artificial intelligence. So, maybe replace my previous mentioning of Zordon with Ninjor. Haha.
Now, just in case this fits into your PR Universe (And, on terms of the uniforms, is what I theorize will be in the Saban/Lionsgate movie), when the combat suits for the Zords' pilots were designed, the Eltarian combat suit designers built the combat parts for the combat suits, infused the Dragon, Mastodon, Pterodactyl, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger and Tyrannosaurus Coins of Power's energy into the suits as they were on what they were on while not being worn. Then, by using Eltarian tech, that separates the atomic bonds of the suits and their individual weapons (which makes them look like plasma in their respective colors) and input them into the Coins after the Coins were inserted into handheld devices that respond to neurokinetic command or vocal command by saying specific words to release the radiation in the plasma-like state then cool and materialize on the user.
For how the Coins of Power entered moon rock, I'll give the consideration that when Rita and her forces started working to gain the Coins, after a long war, maybe Ninjor took the Coins to somewhere light years from Eltar... Earth's moon... And hid them under the Moon's suface. Rita came for them and during the ensuing battle between her and Ninjor for the Coins she used her staff's orb's ability to irradiate the rock, metal, any other music-genre-name-material on the--just joking. But yeah, she irritated surrounding Moon rock to animate golem-like creatures but the creatures were defeated and crumbled into peices which stayed on the Moon.
Ninjor then imprisoned Rita on the Moon. Let's say 10,000 years after Rita was imprisoned Earthling astronauts found the Coins within the rock using a radar detection system and dug them up but kept them within the rock due to them being unkown objects with strange radiation. The astronauts then finds a container-like object on the Moon (And you know how that may turn out).
The astronauts also detect strange radiation from other rocks in the area where they found the container... The rocks from the crumbled golems. The moon stones are then given to NASA scientists but (If Zordon's Intelligence Agency is a secret agency) spies from Zordon's Intelligence agency (Who learned of what the astronauts found by monitoring the Moon using satellites) infiltrated the facility and stole the objects and brought them to the Intelligence agency's science division. If the Agency is public, well, the government gives them to them.

I will be honest, I wouldn't want a movie based on this.
Frankly, I'm not one for people who take shows and make movies about them that make them too different from what fans expect. Here, for instance, you've based your idea off of the first series to air in the US (okay, before anyone says anything, I know that's obvious, just trying to sound professional), which so many people are fond of that too many deviations from it, even in a remake, could cause some big fan backlash. I would probably be among them, though am more likely to just rant to those around me than online.
HOWEVER!
This is certainly a comic I would pick up and give a try. Your designs for the costumes are intriguing, you seem to have kept their original weapons, and you've managed to integrated Zordon, the Putties, and even Rita, into your idea without making it seem forced. In addition, people tend to be more open to re-imaginings of favorite stories and characters when they're in comic form. Plus, they would never be able to do this outfits justice in real life. Some things just look better as drawings. I'll probably be go through your other art related to this, so be prepared for the possibility of more long comments like this.
So, above all else, this is certainly a comic I'd give a shot. My inner Ranger fan wouldn't let me get away with not doing so.

Thanks for your honesty! This is really helpful to hear. I definitely agree with your movie view, and comic view. I can definitely see this offending many power ranger fans in movies. I pushed the proportions a bit more, and aimed to look more for like an anime, comic book, or cartoons style.Β
I definitely have a Β lot more stories in mind for green ranger, megazords, and lord zed. So looking forward getting some inputs from you on them in the future.

Wuuuut. These designs are sick mate. I think you're too much of a fanboy to the original show and are just dismissing the costumes because they are radically different to the show's costumes. That doesn't mean the designs are bad. Not contextually and nor generally.
