The Atlantis-class Exploration Dreadnought is to become the newest symbol of the defensive and exploratory power that the Galactic Triumvirate (Klingon Empire, Romulan Republic and the United Federation of Planets) has at its disposal for scientific, exploration and tactical purposes. Set to be the primary flagship of Starfleet at the close of the 25th Century by reworking older and unused designs of Excelsior and Ambassador-class cruisers on a much larger platform with powerful Sovereign-class/style warp nacelles and more modern technology inside and out, the first nine Atlantis ship names harken back to the NASA Space Shuttle Program of Earth before the United Earth government joined and founded the Federation. Among them is the 13th Federation starship to bear the name of a profound legacy - the Enterprise. My question to all who either support or disapprove of this design is what should be done with it and is it an overall sound design?
