At first, life was relatively average for Casey. His parents were pretty normal; not too strict but at the same time they had a hard time showing that they cared for him. There came a time when they were witnesses to something - something big. Something they shouldn't have seen - and for that, well. Let's just say that the house fire they perished in was no accident. Casey was four at the time, playing in the front yard as he watched his own house go up in flames.

Of course, such an event wouldn't leave him unscathed. When it comes to anger, sadness, or any hardship, he tends to block it out to the point he believes he's fine. And he truly believes he is. His parents' death wasn't a big deal to him in his eyes, yet it changed him in his entirety at a young age. But time never stops; and life is fleeting.

Given that parental figures were no longer a thing, life became slightly harder for him. But no matter, he always made the best with what he had. Along the way, he built close-knit relationships with a few people; he would call them family, even. They all had some sort of tidbit that brought them together - whether it was the lack of parents, their thieving tendencies, or their many adventures, they all enjoyed each others' company in some way or another. A little rag-tag family that often got into trouble. Stealing, trespassing, fist fights, and other petty crimes were common amongst them. And that was just... their way of life. Though, as the years went by and they began finding jobs and responsibility, Casey started to grow out of performing such acts. But that didn't mean they were completely eradicated from his list of bad habits.

His interests went through in phases. From art, to dancing, to sports, to theme-collecting, to self-defense, to different cultures, to a variety of instruments and the like; he would often self-teach himself things. Granted, of course, he was not a master in any of the fields. Above average, perhaps. Amazing what practice can do!
Well-rounded? You can say that. If he'd actually become motivated enough to make use of the skills.

Overall, Casey wouldn't classify his past as 'tragic' or 'edgy' - in fact, his demeanor might tell quite the opposite. He didn't need sympathy. He was, and is, a happy person. Yes, this was fine. Things were fine.

So what was the reason for Eden? He was just curious, really.

Casey is very curious, often exploring the works of things he's interested in. Though his curiosity may get the better of him, and he may end up in dire situations - not that he's too concerned about that.

Competent when he needs to be, or if motivated enough. It's more of a silent competence. He's the type who's capable of running a mile in 7 minutes but ends up with 12+ minutes because he's lazy. He's also the type who could get an A in class but ends up with C's, D's because he didn't do homework assignments. Or B's if the class is easy.

His views may be a bit skewed based on the type of past he had, and he may have performed such petty crimes, but he is one thing: honest. He'll likely just tell the truth. Unless someone tells him not to, then he values his word more than the truth

Casey is terrible at communication in the sense he doesn't say what he's doing (e.g. he does things / goes places without telling people or without telling them what he's doing). He's completely fine with talking to people, though.

While he is friendly and willing to make friends, he also has a hard time getting attached to people. Probably often misses quite a few social cues as well - might seem something is lacking

There's honestly not a lot that bothers him. Perhaps he's just numb- not sure exactly what it is. Perhaps it's a coping mechanism after the loss of his parents at such a young age. Something inside him had reformatted itself, creating a sort of numbness he exhibits when it comes to expressing sadness or anger, and even towards most things in general. It was a coping mechanism, of sorts, that had embedded itself into his nature and has been with him ever since. Why let things bother you, right? Life is more fulfilling if you tell yourself to be constantly happy, right? At this point it's a little hard for him to tell the difference between things he can handle, and things that constitute real pain. He's really okay- and that's what he tells himself. And that's what he truly believes.
