This young penguin was so sweet, it seemed to smile up at me and show me its flippers, as if it thought it would use them to fly someday.Sorry about the lighting, the background and the mottled shade
It was just in a shady place and I couldn't get it in full sun, but it was so sweet.Probably 98% scrapworthy, but it's the emotion in the penguin that makes me upload it
(might scrap lots of my gallery soon anyway)
It was almost like it was also saying, Love me, please.

This is in Cape Town, South Africa. Boulders Beach. There's a large colony of African penguins there and they seem very calm and at ease with people. You can get close enough to touch though they do recommend no touching since they can peck if they feel threatened I suppose. Plus they may even smell like fish

I was on the wooden walkway which has a railing as well, so that means when you are on there you are separated from them. So I was looking and leaning over the railing looking down at it and it was looking up at me. I am not sure if it was close enough to touch. Maybe! They don't want you to touch them though, it's not allowed hehe. They may bite. I wondered if maybe this one would have liked a little bite to eat hehe. BUT there are a couple of areas where you can walk amongst them. Most people don't know about the one place through a gate I think. That's where I have taken a lot of my photos in the past and some now. Like the one I uploaded the other day with the little chicks under the mother/father.
