Description :EDIT: Currently making more accurate turn arounds that fit with my style.
Fresnel [link]
Gunpowder [link]
Dmitri [link]
Maple: [link]

I did this deviation from memory, so there are a lot of mistakes, but it was a fun thinking exercise. I should go look up references now I suppose.
I might try to do a comic for mission 5, dunno. IF I do, I might be looking for cameos.

I love drawing Fresnel, despite him having the most missing things out of the bunch I think. He's missing a lot of rings and his color scarf is all wrong.
Sorbet is actually interesting to draw, but I'll never get all of his details. NEVER.
Gunpowder is in the middle, it's tricky making him look interesting. Frick I forgot Gabite have those weird butts.
Maple.... Not too fun to draw, though she's cute.
I don't really like drawing Dmitri. He's too similar to Maple and just not fun to draw.

Hmm... I don't remember if Diadem was the team name I wanted. I know it started with a D, but I can't for the heck of me remember. Merp the Abra and Celeste the Rufflet. I have more doodles of them in my PMD Explorers Crud folder.

I would like to take thgis time to point out that the thing around Dmitri's neck is actualy a cape of some sort. [link] [link]

Yeah I know. XD I just didn't have references at the time I drew these, and I wanted to see how well I could remember them off the top of my head. I never drew any of these guys, so they weren't ingrained in my memory too well.
I'm probably going to end up making character turn around sheets for them so I don't have to worry if my internet goes kerplunken.

Thank you for the reference links, and for taking time to look and comment! =>

You're welcome. I like the way you draw Ampharos.

Thank you! All I really did was make him a bit longer in the back-legs. I thought it would add more spring to his step since he adventures so much.

Sorbet shouldn't be allowed to be dynamic in my opinion... he's just so weirdly designed in that way. It's okay if you make a few mistakes on detail, huh? You also know much I like Fresnel. You draw him a bit... lean, I guess. Like a kangaroo. That doesn't resonate with me a lot, but your choice. I didn't really give a lot of thought to Gabitebutt, but I guess that's something I would have referenced later on when I would need that pose, theoretically. He's very animated, though, and that's good. You also do Maple pretty well. Cute, mouthy, and weak, like she is. I wouldn't think that you wouldn't think Dmitri is interesting, he seems right up your alley... but whatever, eh?

All in all, good sketches. Keep on sketchin'.

You know me, trying to make lumps move around. Maybe I just play too much Monster Hunter, and I see a lot of big beasties that look odd but move a ton.
Haha the Kangaroo part is hard to ignore. It's fun to draw him like that, but I know you don't like it much.
I completely forgot that weird butt. And his hat needs a bit of work.
I drew both Dmitri and Maple a ways off. Zangoose just aren't my cup of tea too much, their faces are weird.

I guess the design on a Zangoose's face can be a bit offputting. But you do Maple well, don't worry about that.

Fresnel is supposed to be a sheep! That's all I'm really saying. If you want to keep on drawing him that way, I have no say in it.

Well it's mostly he's a bigger version of Maple but without the super cute she has. I dunno.. Something bothers me with his face and body a bit. Gotta keep working at it.

But sheep don't walk on two legs. XD And sheep faces can look like how I drew them. [link]

If you need good garchomp refs, try looking for Cynthia's garchomp. It was in the anime a good handfull of times. But I think you have him idown pat already. As for maple and dimitri, they do look 'off' but im not quite sure how. Dimitri's head is small and is missing the shoulder tufts.
Kyurem is perfect in my opinion. He gives me trouble everytime I attempt drawing him. I envy you.

Hmm.. Gunpowder is a Gabite though, but the only thing Garchomp has very different than its previous form is a taller frame. I can't believe I forgot the wierd shark butt they have, I thought he was looking a bit weird.
For Maple and Dmitri, I think it's mostly their fur and some sizes of things I have a bit off. Though I like drawing larger front limbs, so I guess adding that to Maple adds to the weirdness. Dmitri definitely gives me trouble on his head. But at least it's a start to try and get how he works.
Sorbet was painful to draw actually. XD; I bet if I cleaned up the doodles he'd look pretty off. But he's fun to draw, I tend to start with a huge circle for his body, then do his neck and head. It's odd since I usually go head first, but since there's a lot on a Kyurem body, it helps to keep things about the same size.

Oo a gabite? X3 no wonder I always get him wrong.

On maple, the large front limbs remind me of vigoroth more than stunky. Both zangoose and maple should... be more chibi/ simplified, but not by so much that it replaces your art style.

Yep! H'es not big or purple enough to be a Garchomp yet. Maybe they decided to make him a Gabite because most people think of and draw Garchomp?

Yeah I have these weird ways of changing how a pokemon looks. My Abra Merp, and Rufflet Cellu hardly look like proper pokemon. XD;[link] And I draw my Smeargle in a weird manner. [link]
It's not that I can't draw in the original style... I just have this weird way of altering. But I was doing these without references, so I'll try to follow them more closely before deciding if I'll change them to suit my tastes a little.

Thank you for commenting and sharing insight, I forgot to say that!

yeah there's a fine line between artistic creativity and canon-ism.

:3 an np, just don't kill your style though. I love the fact that its different. Its a nice break from all the 'kawaiidesu' stuff.

Really since this is more for fun, each person can sort of choose their own method to the madness. Well so long as they follow the general rules yeah. XD Though I can't help but make Fresnel a Kangaroo type guy.

Most people say my style looks weird haha. Though it's interesting that people can tell my drawings apart somewhat now, I've gotten comments that I have a style apparently. All I do is just draw, like anyone else. But yeah, styles are interesting to see how a person thinks and develops those thoughts.

I used to think that too, and then I remembered that everyone has their own style. Despite trying to do it one way or another- we always learn from trying new things and our style adapts accordingly. The best way to see someones style is to have them draw without references. Without references- the minds eye has full control and its impossible to correct anything when you are your only reference.

I've been doing character turn around sheets to both practice and have a reference of sorts of some. My drawing will still go a ways away from how those sheets are, but it's a nice solid point to look at if I get stumped.

Yeah. I get some of my friend annoyed with the "mistakes" I make when drawing. I try more to go for feel than accuracy, not that I don't try for accuracy too though. But I'd rather draw more to my tastes because then I can experiment and see what works and what doesn't for me. I used to draw pretty terrible anime styled drawings, but then started trying to draw more how animators do.
It's interesting seeing how origins in drawing can change or effect the general style a person has as they develop it.

Woah, you got a great memory. These doodles are awesome, I hope you continue to do mission 5.

Haha no no, my memory is pretty bad. Our esteemed Gunpowder is missing his bubble butt. Fresnel isn't stripey enough and lacks his proper scarf. And Dmitri and Maple are all a bit off. It was still fun trying to remember and just thinking about it all though.

Thank you for commenting and taking a look!

Oh this is digital art. I mostly draw digital now because I used to have too many stacks of paper falling on my head. The woes of an artist who loves to sketch in pen.

Thank you for looking and commenting!
