The anatomy, firstly, is quite poor. You seem to certainly have a grasp on the idea of anatomy, but you don't seem to portray it well. The limbs seem to flow unnaturally. One thing of note is the ankles and calves, most notably Peridot's leg, and specifically her left leg. It seems to be roughly scribbled, and there is barely a sense of dips before just moving along, similar to a child doodling clouds. Also, I have not a singular idea as to what is going on with Peridot's foot in general, with the bizarre and sudden dip. All-in-all, it's not something stylistic, but rathermore out of inexperience. Also, the faces lack expression and seem to be in the uncanny valley-- I'm aware eyebrows aren't often seen, or no eyebrow hair, but giving them eyebrows would've helped a bunch. Lapis, with furrowed brows to show her upset, or simply loose brows to show her in the aftermath of crying profusely. Peridot would look wonderful with furrowed brows, but more of a pity/concern look-- also, where the hell are her irises?
The lack of shading and shine is actually a good idea, save for the terrible lighting on Peridot's hair that seemed to be pulled from pure space, but it gives a very minimalist vibration, and with the simple plateau-like colouring, this is actually quite nice.
The contrasting colours, while I'm at that, are a nice touch. They aren't very good on an emotional aspect, but in terms of aesthetics, I think the colouring mixed with the minimalist style is where this piece truly shines. On emotions, the coolness of the characters sets their mood perfectly, and while the contrast helps out a whole lot, the warmth of the background doesn't do this piece justice emotionally and is quite awkward in that aspect.
The line work and perspective are...lukewarm at best. I haven't much to say about the characters upon the floor, that is okay but could've been done much better, and all-in-all the perspective is average-- but the flimsy lines of the floor, the lopsided lines of the wall, etcetera. Gives the idea of rather abstract boards, and I don't think very many barns have walls like that.
This piece is done some justice by the colouring, and it almost creates an abstract vibration-- hell, in terms of minimalism, this is actually quite the talent! But everywhere else, it is mediocre at best and utterly falls apart at worst.
I recommend studying anatomy intensely, developing your style (via...you know...drawing a bunch), and using rulers more often.
