Description
The first piece in the series I will make in the next weeks.I have plans for vastly different characters, but all of them will be detailed and rendered realistically. (I do my best)
And hopefully they will make good portfolio pieces.
The first one is sort of a warm-up, I used -s abstract picture for reference (If you want to see cool robots, check him out!)
The other two pictures Character Series 00 - Robot2 Character Series 00 - Robot1
Every comment and useful criticism appreciated!

Man this stuff rocks! How long have you been doing 3D for? I can't see much work in your gallery!
Really nice stuff can't wait to see more!

Thanks! I started learning from zero roughly 2 years ago. I can't afford school, so it's just google and my brain... Most of my work end up in the trash, but more to come soon

Well I belive that as long as you are passionate enough about it, you can still get there. I used uni as more of a guiding tool and then just used my own time to do the real learning. Keep it up man!

Thanks! No, everything is made in Maya. I don't think it would be hard to do in any other program, they do (almost?) the same thing in the long run.

Mudbox? Impressive stuff. I can't come close to hard surface models in Mud.

100% Maya. It would be crazy to do this in Mudbox. (It's made of 481 separate pieces)

you should start doing videos for these things, I need to see how you did the head cause it makes no sense how that could even be modelled. great job!
