Pelle, I can't tell you how much this photo moved me. When I was a little boy I was kept awake during my supposed nap at noon at my grandmother's place, first by the photos, later by the text of a book about the Vasa, its discovery, raising and conservation. It kept me in awe, and later seeing this great ship, in the state it was in, in Stockholm, was fascinating beyond belief (though I loved Fram more, a few years later, in Oslo). It was heart-breaking to read a few years ago that the ship is possibly not going to be around anymore in just a few years. But this man... I think I can say, without knowing anything about him, that he inspired great awe in me with his work. It's nice to put a face to that. Thank you for that

I imagine, Pelle, these kinds of people always have a lot to tell, and marine divers certainly have a special work environment. Unless you've seen it, you may want to watch this: [link]

Damn, I should have comntemplated the boatbuilding side of your entity upon reading your first remark... It adds another dimension to your words.

A bit, eh? I'v never actively thought about it that way, but I'm pretty sure that it might have a connection, one way or the other. While I'm not a tradional boatbuilder (wood doesn't really listen to my command, or my hands to me well enough to form wood, maybe), I guess that in the end all these things came together.
