So there's an animated film called Help! I'm A Fish that I went 21 years without ever hearing about. I stumbled upon a review on YouTube, found the movie, and I was hooked (see what I did there? ).

It may seem like a simple children's film (by the very definition, it is), but there is a lot going for it that I just plain appreciate. The animation is up there with Disney or Don Bluth, the overall visuals are gorgeous, the voice talents do a good job (RIP Alan Rickman and Terry Jones), I like the story and characters, and the music takes me back to the year 2000 (the theme song is especially catchy. It's been my jam lately). It's overall cute and family-friendly, but I was surprised by some of the things they were able to get away with for a G-rating (some rather disturbing and violent moments notwithstanding). I definitely recommend anyone check it out. It's severely overlooked!

For a movie so obscure, I honestly didn't expect to find any fanmade work for it. Lo and behold, I find a good number of it here, and they're actually well-done! They've inspired me to contribute some of my own to the small collection. I think it could use some more.

These are the main characters of the film: Fly the Californian flyfish, Chuck the jellyfish, Stella the starfish, and Sasha the seahorse. They are human children (sans Sasha) who turn into sea creatures by drinking a potion created by an eccentric scientist.
