"Yeah, she's a great lifeguard. She can carry a man twice her size, swim like a seal, and yell like a drill instructor. Safety incidents are way down. She's accidentally lost her suit while diving in a few times, which when you think about it is a bit hard to explain, but really the only complaint we've had is that poolside ninja attacks are way up. And that's really just a coincidence."

So I really just wanted to draw Miyuki as a lifeguard, but it's certainly something she could have done as part time work in college and maybe on occasion still (presumably at pools. The Beach Patrol is made up of NPS Rangers, which is not a job she could get casually). Of course, her normal poolside behavior is practically a race to break all the rules as quickly as possible...
