Suddenly, ninjas! Business/logistics expert and kusari-gama master Alli McKenna joins in this year's celebration, with the girls enjoying a (no doubt pilfered) bottle of Roederer Cristal atop a truck that belongs to some sort of city agency, I guess. The new year's just beginning and the crimes are already stacking up...
Looks like they're are in some way on duty this year, which may prevent Miyuki from losing her clothes like she did last year , and the year before , and the year before that . Then again, she's a bad and quite powerful influence on people, and this is a picture of the night before, while all those previous years are the day following...
Had to shortcut this one tremendously (and it still wasn't done on time, how about that.) I described Alli's hair as short and blonde, but here it's up in back, held in place with chopsticks, which means it can't be that short - I had written her before I really had a sense of how I wanted her to look.

It was a novel location for their toast of the New Year, but Akiko was a little nervous. Still holding her empty wine glass, she looked around and said in a whisper. "Miyuki, are you sure this is a good idea? Ninja are supposed to avoid the police." Miyuki smirked.
"It's fine, their attention's on other things right now. Besides, where's your sense of adventure? Here we are, unknown fugitives of the law, toasting with stolen wine and armed with various implements of mayhem, On Top of a police vehicle. You can practically taste the irony." Alli piped up as she offered out her glass for Miyuki to fill.
"What are they so intent on, anyway?" Miyuki paused with the wine bottle just starting to tip, a genuinely puzzled look on her face. Setting the wine down, she reached into a small pouch stitched into her belt and pulled out a compact listening device.
"You know, that's a really good question." Popping in the ear bud, she held up a finger for silence and listened.
"I can't believe this." A female officer said with an exaggerated sigh. "Here we are, on New Years Eve, listening to a mobster throw a party." A male officer grunted but didn't speak. The woman continued anyway. "You know that Mallory is probably funding that party with his dirty money, the same dirty money we're trying to nail him for having." The man grunted again. The woman growled. "Shit, Duncan. DJ's, catering, hookers. He's got some of San Fran's top officials in attendance. The ambient noise has gotten so bad we can't make anything out clearly at this point." Finally the man spoke.
"So?" The woman offered a sigh that had a hit of laughter in it. With a shrug Miyuki could somehow hear in the way she spoke, the woman concluded.
"Maybe we can attended and ring in the New Year in style for once, rather than just sitting in a truck." Miyuki pulled the listening device away and grinned.
"Ladies,., I just got an idea." Akiko really did not like the smile on Miyuki's face, it said with absolute certainty that they were about to do something crazy.

You know it's funny, my assistant at work is named Mallory (actually spelled differently though) and the company we work for does events with all of those things, except hookers. And Ninjas.
The truck they're sitting on is loosely based on a Lenco Bearcat operated by the SFPD - it's an armored truck used by the SWAT Team, so I expect the police are planning on intervening at some point (and in style, no less). Of course once they hear there are ninjas around... Incidentally, a similar vehicle is used by the police to try to corner Miyuki on the Pier in Part 5 of the Oracle Sword (with predictable results).
Somewhat relatedly, I'm planning a day after pic to see where this all led them - it'll most likely be an excuse for nudity, as in years past, but I'm looking for a theme to put it to.
