Description
The color version of:Rika and Renamon enjoy a park, in Paris! When my mom was getting her grad degree from the Sorbonne she met a man walking a curious not-quite-a-dog along the streets of Paris. She asked him what kind of animal it was, and he said "C'est un reynard" - "It's a fox." So it's thematic.

Awesome piece. The only thing I'll so is Rika's skin and hair is alittle dark. She was more brighter.

Looks even better in colors! You know it's funny, I didn't notice the torn knee on her jeans in the line art version. Amazing what colors can bring out, huh? So Paris was the background shot, eh? That works. It IS the City of Love after all. Heh. Plus I like the story that went with it. Very nice.
The only thing critique I'd have to point out though is that Rika's hair is a little more reddish than that. It's that weird in between red and brown that can mess with people. Auburn I think it's called? I've seen that happen with comic colorists too. I *think* Scarlet Witch started out with that color too til someone said, "Fuck it! Let's just make it red! Less confusing that way!" Same thing I think with Rogue but they went with brown there.

There you go, redder hair (a little darker than it should be, but teenage girls are always messing with their hair color).
I picked the original color based on pics from the internet, which are, of course, all different. When cartoons had hand-painted cels they had to be produced in massive numbers by the lowest paid people they could find, so simplification was probably the only way to go. Before digital colors and printing, print comics would only be printed in a limited number of colors (to save money). And of course sometimes they'd just mess up, and everyone would be dark blue for one panel.

Well I suppose there is a reason they used to call them "Four Color Comics". Just weird how colors can sometime vary wildly between colorist and stuff. But then again this is why I'm not an artist or colorist or anything like that.
