My entry for 's Winter Holiday Themed Contest.

I didn't have to think all that long about who to be the love interest in this picture. *ladyviolathornhaven mentioned to me that her college Anime club was going to be watching "Cromartie High School" (aka "Sakigake! Cromartie") and my head was instantly on the idea as to who was the 'right delinquent' to pair Hinata with. Nothing says 'ship' like a guy made out of metal, so Mechazawa became the lucky man/machine. The Holiday theme was an easy choice as well: My favorite episode is the 3rd one where a tune gets stuck in the head of Hayashida (the guy with the purple mohawk which seems to have a life of its own.) So caroling ensues. I had to include enough of the 'regular suspects' to attempt to make it look like a choir.

Hinata's School Uniform comes from Cromartie Episode 26 where they have a girl's school...

I know there are a few 'wonky' details to this picture but overall I'm pleased with how it came out since it was drawn directly on the 11x14 Bristol that I colored it on. Instead of my usual technique of drawing & inking on one sheet of paper, then scanning to fix line mistakes before
printing the lines on 8 1/2 x 11 card stock to color it.

I like the idea of of Mechazawa-x-Hinata, I think I'll call the ship Mecha-Nata...
