Description
(Anyone know what category this should be in?)Happy 101th deviation people! Now you all know how horribly horrible my drawings used to be. They're still not great, but at this rate I should be super fantastically amazing by the year 2052. It's going to be like three dimensional sparkling orgasmic bliss, with technicolors, speedlines, and psuedo realism. Oh yeah, watch out. I'll be one pimpin' 60 year old.
If you want to see some of the better older pictures, check the first couple of pictures in my Scraps .

Put it in catergory "Kicka Assa!" you should use that in an artistic portfolio for any art job you ever apply for. Also, I always loved your "Invader Zim" inspired style, (the artist's name will always elude me because I have no possible chance of spelling it correctly after the name has left the screen for 5 seconds) it's rare for me to see, not to mention, you add some personal flair to it. It's an out-of-the-box style to me, which is always my favorite. Also, and this is a huge jump of a metaphor, but you seem to have a self-contained style, I.E. everything in your world seems to fit, most artists seem to struggle, like "I've never drawn a gun/chair/lamp/floating UFO" so whatever their style, the item or person seems out of place, but like another artist that I enjoy (Endling, but don't let that go to your head if you know of him), you seem to let your style flow over anything you draw.
Pretty much just want to see more.
Fear the blank space.

Oh, what a compliment, thank you. x) I'd like to think my style goes into everything I draw, and though I do know how to draw guns, chairs, lamps, and UFOs, you haven't seen me attempt animals yet. Oh man, animals are a trip and a half. However, it's not that I'm unwilling to try it. I do my best to try new things, and one day I will conquer them with my tiny fist.
And yes, you will see more.

Deathnote... Nuf said.

Oh yeah, even though that How To Draw Manga book forced me though one of the darkest drawing years of my life, it was worth it. It's like driver's ed. Sure you might swipe some cars, breeze through a stop sign, and give your mom a heart attack, but we had to start somewhere!
I gave that book to a little anime-inspired artist in highschool. Chances are she's copying out of it right now, but I know in a couple of years she'll thank (and hate) me for it.
(And go Gaia! W00t. Haven't been on forever, but it was really fun for the few years I spent on it.)

We all spent our first few days copying out of that book because we thought the pictures were so amazing and maybe if we copied them and then changed them just a little it would be called our own style, and we could say that we could draw like that!
...Pffft, i really do miss the dilutional days.

Do you really? I could imagine a person looking back and saying, "I really do miss the alcohol addicted days." xD But yes, that very mindset of copying and altering flitted through my head just like that. Everyonce and a while I stumble upon an those carbon copy drawings on dA, and I think, "Aw, look at the little baby anime artist. I remember when I was that age..."
That Katy Coope girl who wrote the book must be laughing all the way to the bank.

It doesn't even matter how old they are, you just automatically think, "Aww, the little cute artist."
...With there amazing powers of drawing the same as everyone who read that book, and so you feel it your obligation to help them.
I wish I had thought of the idea, because you know every person who has ever tried to draw Manga owns that book. Maybe I could borrow a time machine from someone.

And steal Katy Coope's idea before she thinks of it? Oh you little devil... brilliant.
She released it at the perfect time too, just when manga was just hitting the shelves, just when people were beginning to learn how to pronounce Japanese words, just after Pokemon and DBZ were "uncool," but YuYu-Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin were amazing. And on top of that the tutorial and guides were SO easy to learn. Ms. Coope? You are a fucking genious.

Well I would be famous and then I would be able to say that I helped all the young anime artist when they first started out, and people would praise me because at one point everyone would have had a copy of my book. Which is funny because that is what everyone s replying to your art about. The "OMGackt, I had that book too!"
And definitely don't forget Sailor Moon. The anime that spawned so many girls out there to pick up there pencil and try there hand at there very own little Mary Sues of them self. That show was so stupid and yet I miss it so much.
I think I might have to go dig around and pull that book out, maybe I could sell it to some unsuspecting person, since time travel has now been ruled out. Seems you can't cook using the space time continuum... who knew? Now it's broken ...and smells of nachos.

o.o thats really odd. XDD i basically started out the same way. drawing whatever in elementary school, than gaining the knowledge of what anime really was the summer of my 8th grade year. i copied the style of Inu-Yasha for awhile until i expanded out to other shows and gaia (tho i started it a year after you) than now its Bleach styled art, Death Note thought process and Hellsing themes XDD

XDD exactly.
i tried watching Inu-Yasha the other night and found myself laughing...not at anything in it, but at how...well...sad it kind of is. i mean, the last episode didnt even accomplish anything because they couldnt think of any way to end it without going off from how it probably will end. XD I'm glad i decided to drift to other anime besides it, or i would have been utterly disappointed by the end.

lol XDD it would if it did. i mean, they ended the anime just because it was probably getting too expensive to keep it running...i guess the manga is still going "strong" but yea. like i said, nothing was accomplished in it. Naraku or what's his face is still alive, they failed with the jewel shard, sango's brother is still brainwashed, miroku still has the whole in his hand, kikyo's still alive...absolutely nothing delt with. it was basically the group flying off into the sunset saying "Well get him sometime!"
my reaction: o.O the fuck? that was a waste of 200 episodes and 4 movies.

Wow.
Just wow.
That really sucks. The thing with InuYasha is that as long as people watched it, the animators got paid. So they just kept making episode after episode, until fair enough, no one was watching and they had to suddenly put on the brakes. Like you said, what a waste.

Mhm. I'm now trying not to attach myself to those really long series any more, just because when it comes to some sort of end like that, they really dont have much to do with it. I watched Naruto a little while but after missing so much, i just never bothered to try and catch up with it. Bleach is the only long going series i follow now because its on at a good time for me and i doubt AS will keep it on TV that long due to scheduling. But then again, if the ratings stay up, maybe they will. Its more up to the voice actors i suppose anyway.

Hey, do you know what's a good anime series to watch? Cowboy Bebop! It's only 24-26 episodes long, and it's very dramatic, yet somewhat silly at the same time.
It reminds me a little of DN, 'cause they don't use cliche anime expressions/actions. If you find it, I highly suggest taking a look!

i got wolf's rain on dvd! XDD i really liked the series and it took probably 4 years for me to get all of the dvds. i was buying them individually until i realized how much cheaper it was to just buy the remaining 3 in a box set, so i did. it did get really odd. especially the fact EVERY CHARACTER DIED. i felt really bad for Darcia though...he and tsume were my two favourites. XP funny you mentioned the two series together. in a rp i was doing, i had a family of four kids: Darcia, Gren, than the twins were my character raharu and Johnny C from JTHM.

JOHNNY THE HOMOCIDAL MANIAC. HAV MY KIDS PLZ.
I mentioned the two series together because they were made by the same creator! That and Samurai Champloo and some of the Animatrix. Bwa ha ha. From Wolf's Rain I actually liked Toboe, the most annoying character of them all. But he sounds better in Japanese. Really. For one he's not voice acted by a girl and isn't nearly as whiny. Dx I adored Hubb best of all, and Tsume gets second place for being totally bad ass. Darcia was really freaking awesome too. He balanced the line of charming, insane, and evil really well. I felt bad for him when he continually bashed his head against the wall. (Don't marr your lovely face, Darcia!) Oh man. Memories.
Now that I think about it, Wolf's Rain is one of those stories that is really hard to tell people about. "It takes place in a world where wolves are extinct, except for this handful posse of wolves, who can turn into people, and they're looking for paradise and are guided by this chick who's really a flower. Yeah..."
