This is just a practice piece I did a while back. I liked the look of the stock photo so tried to reproduce it with a few minor changes. The stock photo is from ~DoodlebeSTOCK [link] .Though the bead work is indicative of a Native American, the hair color and eyes aren't the right color for that, and I really didn't have any specific group in mind when I did this. It's just a practice piece for working on faces. I just added the beads and beadwork for the heck of it.
Done in Photoshop LE with mainly the airbrush, and a little dodge and burn.
As always, critique is welcome.

Absolutely beautiful :d....certainly, not as good as some of your other pieces, but it's a WHOLE lot better than anything I could ever do, so who am I to say anything?

The bead work came our well, especially along the shoulder (very cool). You did a great job with the lips. I know how hard it is to do them at an angle. The feather looks a little too fuzzy. Her expression is wonderful.

Thanks for your kind words. And you are right about the feather. I over-feathered the edges (no pun intended). I should have used reference for that. I'm glad you thought the bead work looked okay. It was sorta time-consuming, but fun.

Interesting portrait for sure- as you say, the first thought is First Nations, but then on closer inspection you see that doesn't really fit. So it's interesting. And really good.

Thank you for commenting. I glad you found it interesting. I could have put pointy ears on it and put it in the Fantasy section and it might of fit. In the old 'Elfquest' series of comic books (by Wendy Peni), there was a group of elves whose clothing had a definite Native American type feel to it.

I was a child of the 80s. I read the Epic reprintings, not the original black and whites. They were great. Do you think she was influenced by anime?

I read the reprints as well. I think she must have had some anime influences, though I wasn't aware of it at the time, because I wasn't aware of much anime at the time. The world wasn't as saturated with anime back then.
